This is my entry into the Dark Round 3 of the MOC Olympics. The theme is Space Pirates. The competitor is NO ONE! 'Tis a shame that no one wanted to tackle the theme with me. Hope that you enjoy what I post regardless.
About this creation
The Gray Hawk is a ship built for speed, and little else. With a small crew of 3, she is most famous for disrupting trade ships while on their route to deliver goods. Captain Morgan takes contracts from competitors and government officials looking to disrupt local trade.
Notice the berthing area for the Seamen underneath the ship, while the Captain's Quarters are on the top deck. There's a joke there if you look hard enough, but it's legit wording....I swear.
The Gray Hawk has two engines dedicated to fast travel, and one engine for cruising.
The controllable flaps act as steering control and also can be deployed to slow the ship to a dead stop, making her highly maneuverable.
A high powered plasma cannon is located on top of the Cabin's Quarters. With the capability of 360 degree rotation, the Gray Hawk is a force to be reckoned with. Because the cannon uses so much energy, it's really a last resort. It has a dedicated gunner who has a head's up display for precise beam penetration. No Joke.
The last of the crew is the Mechanic who services the ships main veins.
Captain Morgan in the 24th and a half century! Even though he has a bionic eye, the Captain refuses to give up his good luck eye patch. His robotic leg and hydraulic hand however are here to stay. Even though the Captain could use auto pilot, he still prefers a trusty wheel for his helm, because he feels it's much tighter. It gives him tighter control.....eh, never mind!
No one should go anywhere without a trusty robotic parrot!! That's just how we roll!
Well, I hope you guys enjoyed the entry. I really dug creating it. I just recently put together the Brick Beard ship, so there's quite a bit of influence. My only regret is that I didn't have a worthy challenger to go up against. Oh well, hopefully next time.

Your opponents build was good, but I prefer your build. I like the robot parrot idea, and the fact that you built your own hull. Nice job Heath, you have my vote! |

Hey, the white works for me as well! I like the angled pieces used as stabilizers, and of course the robotic parrot was priceless. Thanks for participating despite the overwhelming odds! |

Is Dave... hallucinating...? hahaha. Great build, Heath. Shame that no one signed up against you and that I didn't have the opportunity to post anything. I think the choice of white works well and the cabin at the back is cool. |

it looks like your kitchen is a dangerous place to sail. Be weary of Somali pirates when you go looking for that midnight snack! |

Interesting concept. I particularly like the bow area, and Capt. Morgan, of course. |

Too bad, I posted a Space Pirate ship in a spree 2 weeks ago... This is quite strange as a SP ship, though. White & brown... :)
Captain Morgan prefers the look of wood, even if it is simulated and highly tacky.
That, and my color variety is at a minimum. I do what I can with what I got. ;)
