Swift Variant-01
The Swift alternative model for 7705 Gate Assault with my own slight variations.
About this creation
Introducing the Exo-Force Swift Variant-01, a lightweight fighter craft with a variable wing configuration. The Swift is propelled by two MCF SuperSpeedThrusters mounted on pivots. This type of 'rudder like' propulsion control, combined with the variable wing configuration allows the SV-01 to perform some astonishing feats of aerial acrobatics, including, and not limited too, near-90-degree turns, controlled stalls (dropping out of the sky), tight barrel rolls and vertical corkscrews.

Designed primarily for atmospheric flight, the SV-01 is also at home in the cold vacuum of space. Eight small MB MicroThrusters placed strategically around the fueselage and wings give this craft the same agility in zero gravity.

Armed with two guided missiles and a pivoting laser cannon mounted between the front nose cones, the Swift Variant-01 can infiltrate enemy airspace, take out strategic targets and be gone before the enemy realises, ready to take out any fighters scrambled after its initial attack.

The pilot cabin is located at the crafts' Centre Of Gravity, placing less physical stress on the pilot during changes in vector and enabling better synergy of control to the pilot.

A great shot along the right hand nose cone.

Twin air/ion intakes for the engines. =)

After I'd built all of the Swift that I could according to the official instructions, it looked half-finished - I wanted to use those tan 1x2x6 bricks for something when it occured to me that they could be intakes of some kind. These moved from the bottom, to the sides and finally to where they are now after trying numerous SNOT techniques to mount them on the underside, none of which looked any good. I settled on this because it appeared to 'connect' to the engine and it was reminiscent of old Macross/Robotech design.

A detail shot of the MCF SuperSpeedThrusters. You can also see here how the air funneled in by the intakes is fed into the engine.

FYI, the MCF stands for MotorCycle Fairing - yes, those are fairings from the Lego Town police motorcycle. =)

Pilot in the cockpit - I haven't used any other parts other than those from 7705 so the cockpit is bare - no photos for you!

Top down shot of the front, wings in typical landing position.

Symmetrical layout of the craft, with a centrally mounted laser cannon - this can swing up or down on its pivot, allowing for attack on the entry (cannon up) and on the exit (cannon swivels down).

Preparing for a hard banking maneuver to the port side, notice how the wings pivot down and backward to assist in the turn.

Here the wings are tilted backward and up in a hard braking maneuver, setting the SV-01 up for an elevator-drop (a dead stall then plummet which will sicken all but the hardiest of pilots).

Wings up and tilted back to slow the fall...

Quoting Corry Brooks looks like one of the mods on one of the boxes still it is kool
Of course it is, that is why I labelled it "The Swift alternative model for 7705 Gate Assault".

I also have lot's of that orange part and your creation give me a good example to use them.

Very good. I'm going to have to add ion thrusters to my swift as well.
