Kagurazaka - Confederate patrol ship
About this creation
The years following the unified rebellions of 2229 were a turbulent time for the Confederate League. With many of her borders perpetually unstable, the League's governing body commissioned a new class of ship from the state owned conglomerate, BC Inc in the mid 30's.

This class of ship, officially designated 2234-P2, was designed to lengthy patrols along the extensive boundaries of League territory. They were built to the same modular standard which all League ships have complied to since the middle of the previous century. The Kagurazaka is the 27th of these ships, launched in early 2235.

(On an irrelevant note, she is named after Asuna Kagurazaka from Akamatsu's Negima)

   The standard 3/4 front view.

A figurehead... on a spacecraft... based on the actual character for whom the ship is named after. That big white thing is a fan.

Looks menacing here... except for the figurehead.

Some laser batteries. More accurately, they should be "High energy ionized particle dischargers", but laser batteries will suffice.

Steering thrusters, internal gyroscopes are lame.

   Another battery. And a 27.

Main batteries. Those things sticking out on the sides of the barrels are cooling fins.

Engine/reactor combo. Through some very rough calculations, I figure she should be able to output 31310000 kilojoules per second... or 31 gigawatts if you prefer.

Took a while to find all those 1x1 white rounds.

   Comm tower.

Back of the engine/reactor combo. Those 31 gigawatts can be directed to various parts of the ship as needed - thrust, gunning, shielding, whatever.

Greebles, my standard array. Repulsor lifts for atmospheric travel, intertial compensators for easy manuvering, and some shield generators in case someone tries to unload some gigawatts of energy on you.

Note the underside is all black. It's supposed to be camoflauge; the ship will fly along a border with her belly facing enemy territory.

Another comm tower. I don't know what's the difference between this one and the bow one.

Modularity punks all. All her components are interchangeable with components of my previous few ships: Springfield, Narusegawa, and the CLPS mail ship. I could build an ugly looking combo ship if the latter few still existed.

Now we are going into the interior shots. This is a bathroom.

Admirals Kaoru and Tzui inspect the six person crew quarters. Tzui's blue cap is against military regulations.

Because the crew of the ship will be out for months at a time, the facilities aboard the ship are actually quite nice. There's a communications station (For long distance calls to one's home planet) and a general purpose computer, not to mention the latest auto-kitchen model.

BC Inc President Colin takes the Kagurazaka for a spin. His aide, Charles, is in the navigator's seat.

Airlock. Pretty bad picture, I daresay.

Engineering. Who knows what those big grey things are for.

There's a seat for the resident engineer.

Gun deck, which goes below the engineering deck, which goes below the command deck in which Mr. Colin is taking the ship for a spin.

Ah. Those beds fold up. Thank you Mr. Mathis and your Super Chief for this one. I wonder if Mr. Mathis ever anticipated his design being used in a Space MoC?

Huh, after viewing this, the idea of sectioning larger ships kinda hit me on the head. May help me produce ships larger than my foot now... But I really like the overall simple, yet complex design. Oh, and you seem to have a thing for Akamatsu's work... but that's not bad.

you are right. MODULARITY ROCKS! this ship is utterly cool. but somehow, i think those lasers look flimsy.heck you made it, i dare say nothing.

For myself, the inter-modularity what makes this creation unique, keep it going.

This is super cool. It's very well thought out. The guidance thrusters and weapon turrets are cool. I don't think the camoflauge would work very well though. There would be to many angles ships could approach from. other than that,**** four stars.
