Here is my entry for the Misc. Category for the CCC7 over at classic-castle.com. Only 3 photos are permitted, so after the event I will add the remaining 20+ photos. Enjoy.
**Update...Unfortunately for the past year I have been super busy and have not had time to post any more pics, but I hope to post them before 2011 gets here. Thanks for stopping in!
***Update...Raw images are now loaded. Enjoy
This MOC features full interiors (pool and hall of heroes included) and complete access for playability. The crane really works, and the 'boat wheel' raises and lowers the portcullis. In addition to the 'two piece' design and the hinged wall in the tower, the outside area on top of the rock features a removable floor. I do not know how many bricks are in it, but it is 110 bricks tall and its footprint is 2 1/2 x 3 base plates (80x96 studs).
No one knows why, but for some reason Trolls believe chickens are kept in the basement of this tower. This of course is not true, as the basement contains the forge and the entrance to the mines. However, the Trolls' lust for poultry results in frequent and uncoordinated attacks that are easily thwarted. Adventuresome youth enjoy the entertainment these battles provide, whereas the more seasoned knights stationed here view the situation as a bit of a nuisance.
So many funny little surprises in this MOC, like the fact that they apparently had the toilets refurbished, the white ninja sneaking around and coming flying off the wall at the soldiers below, and the witch smokin' some people apparently. Nice castle man!
quoting Tom weightman:
Amazing. I'm only thirteen and love Lego castle the problem is I don't have enough grey bricks can anyone recommende a good place to by lots of Lego cheap thanks
Mostly bricklink, but I've seen that LEGO itself can also be very cheap occasionally... seek online and find!
AMAZING!!! I was awestruck when I saw this. I literaly started screaming in joy! The interior detail is supurb, and the fact that it opens, AWESOMETASTIC! All the little details just make this moc amazing one of the best I have ever seen.

Very impressive! What is the technique you used for the stained glass windows?
Not really sure how to describe it in a helpful way. Maybe I'll put one together and post a pic for you, but its not very complicated.
trans 1 x 1 and 1 x 2 plates, bottom part of 2 x 2 turntable, few tiles, and little snot building to create a slot for the full window pane and put the framing around it on the inside and outside.
overkill, killtacular, extermination... bah, i play to much of that blasted game... but primarily overkill. wow.

Wow! So many good entries to the CCC7 contest and this one is certainly a contender. Great work on the castle, but what really gets me is the playability you have added to this MOC! It's fantastic the way it opens allowing you to access and play with the inner rooms. Great work and good luck in the contest!!!
Um, WOW! To not only build such an aesthetically pleasing castle and landscape but to also make it open up that way is inspired! Plus, it looks extremely sturdy, only adding to it's playability. This HAS to be one of the immediate front-runners! Best of luck to you.~H
