Edmund Fitzgerald Lego Version
This is my 5th version (I think) of the Edmund Fitzgerald. It sank on 11/10/75. This boat is now gone to make way for a 1975 minifig scale version.
About this creation
Here's my last update for this version...new photos are way at the bottom...interior of the stern...

Hey that's huge!! Never seen such a big thing before! And you suited it to the Guinness book of records? Now a big question: will it float...? 8-D 5/5

When I commented earlier on a kit, I wasn't implying that you'd built it from one. I realize this is an 'Original' creation, and it's beyond IMPRESSIVE! I was suggesting you design a kit and market it, I'd be the first in line to purchase one!

That is a huge thing! It looks realistic, and the details are true to the ship! It is amazing that you decided to build it into Minifig scale.

Thanks for the comment. It took a long time to build :-)
Quoting Ape Fight Crikey - thought this was LDD in the main pic - but no, it real, and it's beyond massive. Amazing work on the inside of the hull, this is a really special MOC. 5 stars

Richard, Sorry...no kit...but I am working on a larger version built to scale... John
Quoting Richard Shuler I've followed this ship's story ever since I heard Gordon Lightfoot's song as a boy in Detroit. I now live in Kansas and am about to write an English Paper on the sinking and found this picture during my research. All I can say is, Where do I get a kit? Loved Lego's as a kid, now you've made my favorite ship into one. I'm impressed!!!

Quoting Jay Rhum This ship is really very impressive and ambitious! I love the modular design and the details you've put in it! How long is it? Always enthousiastic when I see these massives MOCs! Would you come and see my big submarine too? http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/252434

The bell is that little silver thing behind the spotlight on the top of the pilothouse roof. It sorta kinda looks like a bell...lego style :-)
Quoting Ian Spacek Wow! Nice work! Accurate! Wasn't there a ship bell though? Or did I miss it?

Parrington, impatience leads to the dark side... Besides, it's not the number of comments that counts, but WHAT is in them. And in mine, you'll find nothing but total awe. The number of comments is only determined by how much active you are and how many people know you.

O.M.G. John this is off the rails awesome! This is a 70's LEGO master piece and would have had my e yes popping out of my head as a kid, actually it has right now. I love this one, I think classic space might have been holding youy back a little given you are such a purist. Uhm, if this doesn't start picking up a few more rating quickly, I might have to rethink bothering with this site! Great build, and good to see you again...

Beautiful! This is astounding, the shape of it is great, especially the hull. all the details of the two structures on either end also look great. I really like that first picture with the fog. Excellent Lego rendition of the Fitz! ~T
