A cargo carrier spaceship in Classic Space colours.
About this creation
This is a spaceship I built for a Ontario Brick Builders show where the group was building a classic space layout. It was designed to be shown floating above the surface of a planet, dumping ore onto the ground. As a result, there is a three foot long 1x2" wooden truss which is raised by a 5/16" threaded metal rod. The plan was to hide the rod with Lego pieces being dumped from an open cargo bay.
The top features exposed detailing, here visited by a spaceman and his jetpack (thanks Dave!)
Towards the end is the crew module with a flight deck. Unforunately due to time constraints before the show, I did not finish a crew quarters so the spacemen have nowhere to sleep.
The entire model is roughly 90 dots long or 30 inches.
One visitor said it was the ship from the video game Halo, though I had never played this before. I had studied models of the Sulaco from Aliens, thinking it would be the easiest to translate into a long suspended model.
Absolutly Marvelous! it definatly defines the name Spaceship! I love how the whole body is boxed and rugged not like most creations (no offence)! this definatly deserves a 11/5 performance! Keep up the awesome work!
Superb! I know how the visitor got confused with Halo. If you take the Sulaco from Aliens, the Pillar of Autumn from Halo and some blue, throw it in a bucket and shake well, your ship will be the result. It has all the best aspects from both ships. Btw, very good greebling and colour scheme. Love it!
