Devil Ray
The Devil Ray is the latest starfighter of the evil Adaloids
About this creation
Thank you for checking out my Lego creation. The Devil Ray starfighter prototype is a smaller yet stealthy offspring of the deadly Manta starfighter used by the evil Adaloid Empire. It is the personal craft of General Zorok, the Supreme Commander of the Adoloid forces.

The Devil Ray is not as big, fast or powerful as the original Manta starfighter and relies on stealth and maneuverability. It's low profile makes it nearly impossible to detect and by then its already too late.

A head-on view. Armament consists of of 4 proton torpedoes and dual laser cannons (underside).

A semi rear view showing the propulsion system.

A low angle view showing the Devil Ray's extremely narrow profile.

Underside view showing engines and laser cannons.

A close up view with the hinged canopy open revealing General Zorok.

Whoooosh!

Hey, Dan, nice ship you've got there. It's way better than the attempt that I had of making my own manta ray-shaped fighter. However, I was kind of limited on my design because I had used one of those giant manta ray pieces from one of those old LEGO Aquazone sets. Granted, it had no studs but at least there were depressions that were big enough to add a place for a pilot to have their control area. Some people might derive the massive piece as not being a true LEGO element piece but then again, it DOES give more of a SNOT appearance with minimal effort, so I guess the jury is still out on this piece. You'll know what I mean later when I make another one based on this piece.

Where do you find inspiration for these types of things? With me, it's just sit down and build, but these creations are so intricate and just amazing that it looks like a lot of thought went into them. keep building, you're good at it.

Quoting Jim Wright Hay, another question... Those minifigs i've seen you use in a lot of your creations, the guys with the red and white shirts and helmets, did you get those off Bricklink or Pick A Brick, and for how much?
Those were from Pick a Brick at Legoland a few years ago.

Quoting Jim Wright Hay Dan, if you read this, please reply. I see that on a lot of your creations you have odd pieces. Is there a website that I can get just pieces I need instead of a whole set? I need like 500 white 4x2 plain bricks. Is there a place where i could cheaply get those? Please write back. Actually, email me....fredinak@gmail.com thanks dude GREAT CREATION, LIKE ALWAYS
Hi Jim, the best place to buy only the parts you want is either www.bricklink.com or Lego Pick-A-Brick. --Dan

Looking back on your previous Adaloid creations, it makes me wonder: do you have a "good side" fighting them? Whatever the case, this creation definitely beats any opposition in the stealth category!

Very interesting shape in a small and simple spacecraft. I loved the way the canopy open.
