In order to assist the lighter "Beltane Fire" and "Samhain Fire" RMC Aeronautics, on behalf of the "G.A.I.A", developed the heavier "Imbolc Fire". The internal notation was RMC Ae F-1044i. The "Imbolc" wasn´t very popular among the people, because they were not as elegant and fast as the other fighters. The crowd likes dogfighting. Among the pilots, they became very popular due to their superior armour, standard firepower and the capability to carry heavy payloads that could deliver doom to enemy ground positions. These could be heavy weapons or auxiliary tanks under the wings or additional guns/missile launchers at the nose. Only a few "Imbolcs" were lost during the war. Most of them could still limp home, even if they were seriously damaged. A tribute to the durable armour.

General overview.
The Nose (additional guns left and right of the cockpit):
1. The standard chin with headlight.
2. Chin with attached reconnaissance equipment.
3. Reconnaissance equipment detail.
The spacious cockpit.
Reactor-cover with cooling intakes and uncovered reactor.
Jet intake.
The standart armaments: Rapid firing railgun and Lancer missile launcher (one on each wing end).
Landing and in parking position. Note the other reactor cooling intake under the chin.
The ground crew is servicing the reactor and missile launcher.

I´ve got some new bricklink orders for my "Wolfhound" project on their way, with usually more parts than I really need. Perhaps, I´ll have all in all enough to post a result soon. So, just set the parameters and here we go! |

Really cool MOC, great colors, great shape, love trhe tear drop shaped cocpit, and the tail end spoiler just rocks. And just a great backstory, I love the follow up on the Samhain, beltane fighters, and the comment about the crowds. Even the name is in the same vein! It's so nice too see someone getting the vibe of the GAIA story and going with it. Thanks for posting this MOC dude, it is a pleasure to observe. |
