A little side project I was sketching over thanksgiving break. I have always been a fan of the P90, and own one in airsoft form which has become considerably decked out. But yeah, at about 70mm, this clocks in at 1/7 scale, which is just about G.I.Joe sized. It doesn't take a huge selection of bricks to make, either. Constructon details below.

About this creation

Here's the pair with some nice, visile outlines to reak up all the black. The one on the left is pretty stock, and the one n the right has the PS90 extended barrel, as well as some toys on the receiver. Any of you familiar with the P90 will notice that the antennae make the charging handles, and although it's hard to see, the brass ejection slot behing the grips if done with a 2x1x2/3 vent piece.

The PS90 with one side cleaned off to show the inner structure. The cornerstone of this moel is the 5-stud coupola piece that allows for outward building on all sides. Spaced with 1-stid bricks, they make up the "spine" on which everything else is built. Those four spacer bricks in the stock can be arranged in any order, but i went with 2 in each direction for symmetry.

Oh crud. I had to re-design the handle when i was putting it together and i guess i overlooked that. Well, i like the brass ejection thing at the bottom, so rather than get rid of that, i would probably substitute the top four-long piece in the lower buttstock with a 6-long and a 1x1 smooth brick for the harness hole back there. That should run all the way to the rounded handle element and hold it where that 1x1 doesn't connect. I;ll update that in the picture.

I assemble these models in Google Sketchup from my own library of scratch-built parts, and then render them (make them shiny) in another free program called Kerkythea. It offers a ton more freedom and better quality than LDD.
