Samus Aran
Varia Suit. 16 Bit, Super Metroid vintage, LDD mosaic. A fine sprite from one of the greatest games of all time.
About this creation
Betcha didn't know LDD could give ya this many colours!

Count 'em: there's three different hues of red, one of which doubles as dark orange; light red, medium red and dark red (NONE of those, except for dark, are either standard LDD red colour!) there's three hues of orangey-yellow; almost-white tanny colour, yellow, orange, four hues of green; dark green, yellowish dark green, medium green, bright-almost-white green (none of these are the standard colour either!), two hues of yellow: dark yellow and lighter yellow; there's no standard colours there either. Oh, and there's black, but that doesn't count. It's a normal colour.

Proof that I didn't just take a sprite and paste it in:

If one were to attempt to buy it, it'd cost $210 in american currency.
Expensive.

Although it's mostly tiles, since otherwise I'd be unable to get this many different colours.

I tried the 'Explode' thing. I make it a policy to blow up everything I make in LDD.
I'm male. Fireworks amuse me.

Anyway, it looked nice, so here's a screenshot.

Anyway, that's a direct comparison between the mosaic and the base sprite.

The zooming's a bit off since LDD doesn't let you use specific intervals; I had to do it by eye. Anyway, the mosaic itself is pixel-perfect; I spent one-and-a-half hours making this, and every dot of colour was carefully placed. And yes, I know the hand is wrong, but there's no point fixing it now.

The colours are different, though; the dark colours aren't as dark, the bright colours aren't as bright, the reds and oranges aren't as vibrant and there's nowhere near enough variation between the dark and light yellows and the dark and light greens for my tastes.

Regardless, those are simple problems of the LDD colour palette.

Heck, without LDD's strange transparencies, I'd be stuck to the default colours.

Anyway, I believe this is the first and only Super Metroid mosaic on mocpages; maybe even the only one on the internet.

It's certainly likely to be the most accurate.

Quoting Captain McCoy finally! another Metroid fan! btw, I've been meaning to ask...why don't the people in The Halo Group want you there? Someone said "don't let that Areetsa fellow back in here" and I've been wondering why.
Can't be sure, but it's probably one of three possible reasons; I, they once did a spam-invite of every person they could find and figured out it probably wasn't a good idea to invite me, II, they got a bee in their bonnet and figured I might try to do a Phaze in their group, or III, one of 'em noticed me not liking tey hayloez and thought "Why, that guy who doesn't like tey hayloez might want to join our hayloe only group! We'd better make sure he can't!".

Wow, you go to church AND are homeschooled? Holy shazbot, to believe I thought I'd never have so much in common with you! At any rate, this is another awesome creation, as are all the rest of your models. Keep up the awesome work man! And please keep your fingers crossed for me and my models please. I'm trying, but I'm a perfectionist, so I often end up trashing them. :P

Thats true. It appears Other M is gonna come out like one of Team Ninja's action games, Ninja Gaiden. Lets hope thats a good thing.

Quoting "Kurai Kage" Matthew Nguyen Again, compared to the rest of MOCpage's custom Samus', this one has to be the MOST Accurate! On a Metroid note, whats your opinion on Other M? I'm not sure if it would the same Metroid.
Eh, I dunno. I'll buy it, that's certain. Eventually. Well, of course it won't be the same, but... how bad could it be? People were throwing fits over Prime, and we all know how that came out. Most of them ended up eating their hats (with seconds). I don't know much about Team Ninja, but they're pretty famous in the fighting game genre. Since I hate that sort of game (part reflexes, part because I'm a more methodical sort of person who prefers his moments of BLAMBLAMBLAMBLAM to be planned out carefully, part because I always hit the wrong buttons and really don't like memorizing key combos) it should be a point in their favour. Besides, they're working with Nintendo, and say it won't be as hard as their previous games. Their previous games are supposed to be controller-breaking hard, by the way. It probably won't be another Super Metroid, but it will- SHOULD- be a decent game.

Quoting Matthew Novosad Wow, how did you keep the backround in LDD, every time I take a screen shot it goes black, how do you do, I also blow up my creations in LDD, could you please rate and comment on a couple of my creations? =P
I pressed the Print Screen button; it should be above the Insert key, and left of the Scroll Lock key. If you look around for a bit, you should find it. You just press it and paste the results into an image editor, trim out the bits you don't want and save it.

Daunted. It's turned out a lot larger than I was expecting. I'm not even sure if my computer can handle that number of bricks.

Quoting "Kurai Kage" Matthew Nguyen And can I add that you should make these bit mosaics instead of your block figures?
I didn't mention up there that I did this one to take a break from a different project in much the same vein. It's ALMOST 1/5th done!

I'd have to say the MOST accurate Samus I've seen, looks just like her in the Game! Nice work, even if its LDD. And can I add that you should make these bit mosaics instead of your block figures?

Quoting Finn C-Q I know you're home schooled. Oh, if your home-schooled, how do you make friends easily? And, are there many schools in New Zealand?
Plenty of schools. Well, I'm not too fond of people in general. The only ones I really pay attention to are the ones I meet at church every now and then.

Quoting Finn C-Q Oh, oh well, it would be time consuming(knowing you, you seem to have plenty of time), but I have that "StarwarsJPG" as a Desktop, because it is epic, but what is it? Lots of time on your hands?
Which is what? Well, the comic, desktops and mosaics don't really take that long; for the comics and desktops, the problem is coming up with the motivation and plot, for the mosiacs I just need a spare half-hour here and there. Anyway, I'm homeschooled, so I do have a lot of spare time.

Quoting Finn C-Q You make that comic seires you have on Brickshelf on Mocpages, but out of Lego.
You mean that sprite thing? Nah, that's entirely seperate. Absolutely unrelated.
Quoting Julian Acosta u spelled color wrong like 7 times lololololol
No, YOU spelled it wrong. Colour has a 'u' just before the 'r' and after the second 'o'. If you think otherwise, it's clear evidence of not paying nearly enough attention to the english language.
