This is Helm's Deep with the armies of Rohan and the Uruk Hai of Saruman. The stronghold of the people of Rohan in Lord of the Rings : The Two Towers.
About this creation
Helm's Deep was the ancient bastion of the Rohorrim, the horse people of Middle Earth. It is made up of the keep, the tower, and the deepening wall. This is one of the two large Lord of the Rings "dioramas" I have made in past years. I will try to update and improve the photography on this. There are also many features not shown including a detailed interior and the Glittering caves underneath.
This view shows the Uruk Hai approaching the castle. I only have 68 Uruks currently, but may add more as money allows.
Here the Uruks are charging the main gate with a battering ram. It also shows a closer view of the ladders used to scale the walls of the keep.
This is a view from the right side of the castle showing the access bridge and the high walls of the keep.
This view shows the Keep itself, with the Rohan defenders, with their king Theoden standing center among them.
This is an overhead view showing the piece as a whole with Rohan riders charging from the bottom left and worg riders from the bottom right.
The Glittering Caves are buried deep under the keep. They served as the last refuge of the Rohan woman and children when the Uruk Hai army attacked.
An interior shot of a lower level of the keep. This is where the Rohirrim would have met and armed themselves.
A shot of the back of the Deepening Wall. Showing the back of the drainage gate and stairs down from the wall into the keep. Thats Aragorn, Gimli and Legolas at the center of the walls defense.
This is amazing! The only thing I see wrong with it is that Gimli can see over the wall. In the movie Gimli couldn't see and Legolas said: "Shall I describe it to you, or would you like a box?"
Or something like that. Maybe that's just the size of the short Minifigs. Other than that, It's great! 5/5!

Helm's Deep looks really great, would you ever consider selling it?
I guess I might consider selling it, but the price would be pretty high for three reasons. First there is a huge amount of Lego in this set, tens of thousands of pieces, so the cost to build it was high. Secondly it took a vast amount of time to build it, rebuild it and rebuild it again to complete it. Lastly I have to admit I am quite attached to it. But for the right price, anything is possible.
Thank you. There are many details (like the interior and the Glittering Caves) that I haven't shown yet. I hope to add some pics of that soon. I also plan to add a pic or two of my custom worgs. They are the wolf-like creatures ridden by orcs at the bottom right of the shot.

dude this is a great diorama. i think you would be able to make a great moc of the actual battle from start to finish and i think it would be interesting to see.
Thank you, I may look into doing that. I also have a diorama of Minas Tirith (from The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King) that I hope to photograph soon. Its about the same size, but has more minifigs.
