Furnishings that will be part of our display at the local library.
About this creation
Dave and I will be displaying part of our collection at our local library in January and as part of my contribution to the display I created some furnishings for a LEGO house. I wanted to create something that would appeal to girls and, with any luck, inspire them to give building with LEGO a try.

Very cute!
The blankets on the beds are from the Emerald Night train set? :-) |

The bunk beds are genius! You know, with the amount of beds I build, I'm SO going to steal that idea you did on the queen size there! Love em all Stacy! ~ Chris. |

Furniture is fun to do, once you take your time and interest in it. The hard part is always making variations; and you did a great job on the different lamps! |

Wonderful work, Stacy! I was talking with Shaddix the other day about how much I love some of these really small, elegant types of creations. And while they might not get as much interest as the big creations, there's really an art to doing this kind of stuff well...and you've got it down pat! Now let's hope you can influence a few girls...I'm mean, my god, you can SMELL the testosterone around here every time you log on! |

The living room set looks comfy, but the bunk beds remind me of the room I shared with my brothers as a kid. My parents called it "The Battle Zone." The kitchen is interesting -- I like the way you did the sink. It really flows well from the counter top.
Please, please, please make a post showing off your display at the library! |

Excellent! I hope it does inspire some girls to pick up the brick. I tried to indoctrinate my baby sister when the Harry Potter sets were coming out. We both liked HP, I liked Lego, it seemed only natural. But she only ever just displayed the sets, and would only build creatively with me when I came over, probably just to humor me. When she approached her teens she decided she'd outgrown Lego and didn't want those sets taking up shelf space anymore. Oh well. The bright side is, eventually she didn't even want the box they were stored in taking up space in her closet, and I inherited it all as hand-me-ups! |

Stacy, these are wonderful! I can't see that anyone would not go wild over the display. I really hope you can get those girls interested; and maybe enough to start posting on the Pages. Not that it's bad, but there's so much Star Wars and mechs and battleships! We need a lot more civilian Mocs. (In my humble opinion, so don't anyone out there take it personally! After all, there is a lot of great stuff already, but more won't hurt!) Anyway, here I am running off at the mouth again. Keep us posted on how the display goes over. And Merry Christmocs! |
