About this creation
Music for this chapter:
The group traveld through the desert after leaving the library.
Ache: I can't believe how many there were.
Jin'Tak: Yes, but it's over now. The books are gone.
Ache: Not all of them...
After a few days, they returned to the Ancient city.
Jin'Tak: Something's wrong.
Ache: What do you mean?
Jin'Tak: I can feel it. The troll taint in me has increased my senses and granted me insight. Somethings not right here.
The two walked down the stairs.
Jin'Tak was shocked at what he saw.
The chieftain lay near the table.
A troll body lay nearby.
Jin'Tak and Ache ran toward the chieftain.
Jin'Tak: Your highness. Are you alright?
Chieftain: I'm not going to make it. You must avenge me and protect my people. Destroy these trolls from the south. You will find them along the coast.
With those last words, the Chieftain went limp.
Jin'Tak looked up, realizing what had just happened. The Ancients were no longer a secret.
Jin'Tak: You need to come with us. The walls of our city will protect you.
The healing-mother bowed before Jin'Tak.
Jin'Tak then led them out of the cavern.
After a few more days of traveling, the group finally arrived at Mirum. Brik walked out of the city to meet them.
Brik: It's good to see you still alive. What are these creatures you brought with you?
Jin'Tak: I'll explain later. Right now I need you to gather the other settlement leaders and soldiers... as well as horses.
Brik: Right away sir.
Brik walked back into the city.
Later that day Brik, Tyberious, Gyfford, and Cadfael returned to the main plaza with soldiers and horses.
Jin'Tak: Hear me, my brethren! For too long have we been on the defensive against the threat of the Severed! Today, we will change that. Ache and I have discovered many things these past few days. The Ancients are not extinct, and some stand here with us right now. The books which the Severed have been using are now destroyed, leaving them without their greatest weapon.
Now is the time to attack! Today, we take the fight to these devils!
The men began to cheer.
Suddenly, a light came from outside the city.
Ache and Jin'Tak turned around, knowing what it meant.
Irrek walked out of the portal and toward the city.
Ache and Jin'Tak walked out to meet him.
Ache: It's good to have you back, Irrek. We were just about to mount up and take the fight to Arsem and Nefferon.
Irrek: Good. I'll join you. I'm ready to face Arsem and put an end to his reign, once and for all.
The men began mounting their horses.
They all left the city and began riding toward the Land of the Ancients.
