Just today, I got a Mega Bloks Halo set from a friend in a pre-christmas christmas party. It dawned on me that if there's a professional developer building Halo sets, then maybe we might see less junk from other Halo Kiddies. Let's take a closer look:
About this creation

First, let's compare the Mega Bloks Spartans to the BrickForge Spartans. It seems the latter are a bit small to be messing around in the massive vehicle that the MegaSpartans loaf around in. Lookit that poor guy in the back there, just barely hangin' on.

Another thing that I noticed was the SMGs that the MegaSpartans toted around. The butts on the SubMachineGuns are a bit big for either of the figures to carry firmly, so kudos to whoever came up with these dreadful things. Also, the BrickArms Assault Rifles look too small for the MegaSpartans, but they were tailored for BrickForge Spartans.

Now, lets explore heavy weapons. The Energy Sword and the Spartan Laser look pretty good in the hands of the BrickForge Spartans, and the Brute Shot and the Grav Hammer look nice in the MegaSpartans' hands...

... but swap things around a bit, and things get pretty disproportionate. Although, I think that MegaSpartan is glad to have the Brute Shot's blade out from between his legs.

And, as always, the Magus owns all. I'm really proud of the blood effects in this picture, but the lightning looks really out of place.
But seriously, will MegaBloks be the end of the plague that we know as Halo Kiddies?
Not in the least.
During the process of building this set, it fell apart four times in my hands as I tried to fit two pieces together. Eventually, I got frustrated and took apart the component I was trying to attach and place it piece by piece on the Warthog. Clearly, the higher up at MegaBloks don't pay their designers or their engineers nearly well enough.
Also, the seats in the Warthog are built to hold MegaSpartans, not BrickForge Spartans. The latter have to stand in order to be placed firmly in the vehicle. Most people may or may not be irritated by this. It all depends on the person.
So, here's to an indefinite swarm of "custom" and "modified" Halo Wars sets, I hope we can persevere through this all.
Thank you for viewing!

You act like that place was worth staying in. I dunno how much it's changed, but last I checked, it was full of kids whining about not having a girlfriend. |

Here is my professional analysis-
1. Mega Bloks failed at making the Halo sets, to many things are off in size.
2.Brickforge Spartans are awesome, you can actually take them apart and move thing without popping out a limb.
3. You can never stop the flood of bad MOCs. I have never posted a Halo MOC I thought is terrible.

maybe it is the end of Halo kiddies, but im sure even a Halo kiddie can realise this is megablocks and therefore idiotic and pointless to everyone. thanks for commenting on my moc. |

nice work but here are my personal views:
I think that the mega-bloks warthog looks like someone ate it and shat it out after a year. The spartans look like mini action figures and that turret in the first pic seems like a mcdonalds happy meal toy.
Seriously? What is mega-bloks trying to accomplish by copying Lego ... Maga-bloks fails... terrably. |

I received this set recently. I believe Mega Bloks were spot on with the figures, but off on everything else. mega bricks are clumsy and never seem to stay together well. this is my only problem with mega bloks. Lego would have made their blocky minifigs(which i have no problem with, i just LOVE The mega-figs) but also had amazing Lego quality sets we all know and love. I believe that both Lego and Mega would have messed up somewhere anyways. |

plus might i add, the mega blocks wheels for the warthog are wwwwwaaaaayyyyy better then lego wheels. althogh i do have to agree with CJ 100% |

i got a few of the megablocks halo wars stuff and some of the stuff fell apart and i got frustrated but once its done its acctually all right. all i do is take out the mega spartans and adjust the, lets say the warthog. i added some of my legos to the seats so that brick forge spartans can fit. it turns out fine. so in the end i think mega blocks are good after you modify it. |

I've only bought 1 set from Mega-Crap (the dark green pieces in many of my builds) which look OK but are not suited to anything other than filler the real frame work of my builds are LEGOs. Out of the 200 or so pieces in that Mega-Blok set I've thrown out nearly half due to warping or breakages. I've never broken a single LEGO piece unless I actually hit it with something like a hammer. Not only that but Mega-Blok sets take out the creativity by essentially building simple plastic models with a few LEGO studs on them.

mega bloks did ok. i've got 3 sets from the halo wars range( ghost, warthog and gausshog vs locust) and there awsome the only problem with them is that the bottom falls out of the warthog about 1 time a week, but its easy enough to fix. So yeah...

Just deal, people. I submitted this as a forum of thought, not a creation. Yes MegaBloks are a disgrace to the pages. That doesn't mean I put no effort into this. |
|
|
Halo kiddies halo mocs are still better than the megabloks halo stuff. |
|
|
I'd also like to add that Halo Kiddies are infinite, like the stars, or head lice. Oh well, the really good creations more than make up for a lot of the junt that must be put up with. |

Is nothing sacred? The two most despised things in Lego-dom combined to facilitate the tragic demise of all that is good about Lego. What a downer. Thanks for, um bringing to my attention something I was happier not knowing about. ;) (no rating) |

But if halo kiddies died out, who would rally care? And THOSE MEGABLOCKS ARE A DISGRACE TO HALO!!! |
|
|
no way, halo kiddies will live on forever |
