A spoof of an ice cream ad, that caused The LEGO Company to send me their lawyers. >:-(

About this creation

When I got the 4105 red bucket, this was the first time I got some brown and tan bricks. So, of course, I wanted to use them. My favorite ad is the one of the German ice cream manufacturer Langnese. So I built the "Magnum" ice cream out of LEGO^Ž bricks and pasted a photo of it into the ad. This looked too realistic to see it on the first sight. So I also added the LEGO^Ž logo, so people would be motivated to explore the picture and discover the little secret.

I don't know, if it's an honor that The LEGO^Ž Company (TLC) sent me their lawyers, forbid me to show this photomontage anymore, and forced me to shutdown the legolize-it.com domain, while there are many sites on the web containing the letters L-E-G-O that TLC doesn't seem to care of. They also didn't even care about my legal disclamer on my homepage, because they think it was too small to read. How ridiculous. I wonder if I could ignore the fine print in an insurance contract, too...

I had to crop the logos from this original version of the spoof to be allowed to show it here. Take a close look at the ice cream to see the seals of the bricks.

This is a more obvious (uncropped) version of the spoof. I made it, because people complained, they couldn't see the bricks. But they still didn't see them...

for a second i thought this had nothing to do with legos but they are so whats the point of lego getting mad?

Hmm, it seems like TLC's playing favorites here. If you're somebody who did something like this and has the letters "L-E-G-O" in their URL, they threaten to sue you. But, if you're a Bionicle site that's just starting and the name of the site/URL is BionicleZone, they just ask you to change it? I want to send them a complaint letter.......
