The Sluur

Sluur are a non-humanoid intelligent race. The Sluur consists of the same liquid black organism like their ships, buildings and everything else in their culture. So Sluur technology is living and every object an individual Sluur beeing. This is possible caused by an unique ability compared to human evolution: Sluur DNS is able to change itself in short time periods. So, ships aren’t build, a group of Sluur units come together and “mutate” into a bigger being. This transformation can’t be undone.
A standart humanoid-like Sluur creature appears in black or dark colours, has always 3 legs, 2 arms and a faceless humanoid head. Others can also have wings or additional tentacles for special environments. Another speciality is that Sluur don’t breath and can survive in many different athmospheres, also space vacuum.

Telepathy isn’t prooved yet but there are several hints, that they can. Different than the Krill, there’s no hive hierarchy controlling the Sluur nor any political positions. Althought every single unit is independent in thoughts and feelings, they only know the Word “WE” instead of “I”. It seems that Sluur culture had developed as some kind of perfect socialism. The success of the group and advantages for the whole race is higher than individual goals, which are nothing worth. Sluur don't difference between humanoid units, ships, structures or other organism.
Example:
If 10 Sluur units are lost on a planet and need to escape, the 9 weaker ones will “sacrifice” theirselves and become a space ship, so a completely new beeing, the best individual will use the ship to escape the planet.

The Sluur world

Not much is known about the actual Sluur homeworld. Entering is forbidden by them. The planet LP-X378, from the Sluur just called “Sluur” somewhere at border of Maox space is a rocky desert with razor-sharp mountains and a thin athmosphere.
According to the Sluur, they had a bigger interstellar empire in ancient time, but after the Krill destroyed most of their worlds, they hided in this last refuge where they slept thousands of years. Their real origin is unknown.
From the few pictures, Maox was given just after their awakening, scientists assume that the Sluur are living in underground tunnel systems, which are nearly complete covered by Sluur organism.
The Sluur joined Maox as independent support branch and deliver biological improvements, medics, ships and soldiers to all battle fields. But they joined for only one reason: Taking their revenge on the Krill. They can be mysterious allies or threatening enemies, who knows, what their real intentions are?

Ships

The cocoon is one of the standart ships seen recently after signing the alliance contract. This living organism is amored with a laser beam, which get its energy from somewhere in the body. The object can hold 1-3 Sluur units in a red bubble and transports them safely through the hot athmosphere into space.

The drone is an unmanned organism, which appears fast, high manuverable and often in bigger groups.

Its small body is also its only weapon. Inside the organism, explosive gases are collected and compressed (for example from space fogs), which can be emblazed as powerful plasma beams. These are one of the most powerful Sluur weapon technologies known. Like all organism, the drone ship has an own identity.

The discoverer seems to be hybrid of drone and cocoon. It has two laser-like cannons and can hold one pilot. The Sluur unit isn’t inside the ship, he’s integrated on top of the organism able to become one with it for a short time (Maybe to increase tactical knowlegde in battles).
Just beneath him, an empty red bubble offers space for cargo or non-Sluur passengers/prisoners.

It’s unknown how drive systems work but Sluur organism do have a FTL technology.

Hmmm... I think now I get a glimpse of the past... the original Ancient BioMachines... Could it be the Ancients were in fact the Sluur ancestor? Why did they abandon that technology? How did they lose the war? Wow, this tieas it all together beautifully :) Merry Christmas!

Quoting Supreme commander Gideon Fucci Correction the krill are all independent the queen is merely a driving force behind the hammer that is each individual hive. there is no hive mind.
I changed the term to hive hierarchy. Hope that makes more clear what i mean.
