Well, I finally decided to Redo my 4wd Assault truck. And this is what I came up with. With greebles and guns aplenty, this bada$$ truck is ready to roll into any situation, with its improved armor and suspension systems. Please comment and rate!
About this creation
Just an overhead shot showing the nice hood design and whatnot.
The Improved the gun on it, and instead of being a .30 caliber, it's now a .50 caliber.
Showing of the very responsive independant suspension systems. It's a bit more effective than my older version.
The suspension is just a rubber band. before this, I had no idea what to use the Lego rubber bands for. It now appears that they have a special purpose. Hooray.
One thing that this redo has that the older truck didn't have was a tow hitch, shown here hualing a portable gun.
another thing that the older truck didn't have: A changeable truck bed. on the right is the regular bed, and on the left is the rocket pod truck bed. The beds are attached by 1x1 clips, as well as two studs.
And this would be the rocket pod, shown here firing its rockets.
One realistic feature I added was the bed. when you add a load (such as this Duracell 'D' battery) the truck will lower in the back. I had always wanted a truck with this feature, and the new suspension allowed it.
Last but not least, a comparison picture of the old truck. Which one is better? You decide.

i know i already commented on this bad boy already, but it is truly good enough to earn another 5/5. Probably my favorite current MOC in the neo wars. I'd love to see my Raptor get in the ring with this beast! Id have to say that would be a neo battle to watch! It would be a mud-throwing, tire-grinding, metal-churning overtime brawl! Hahaha. But it wouldn't be this version you'd be facing. And if you read that sentence right, I know what your thinking, and yes, I have redesigned it. V.3 coming soon...

its interesting how oddly appropriate of a description "Bashing through stuff with a vehicle" is for off-roading. Anyhow, I'm definitely going to start incorporating some of your techniques. I'll call them "BrickFreak Systems" or something. Nice ring to it. HAHAHA! The name just made me laugh. Go ahead and call 'em that. Also, if 'Bashing through stuff with a vehicle' fits with off roading, then I guess I'm into it. (Funny. When I wrote that comment, I was thinking "does that have relevance? nah. On second thought-well... maybe." In retrospect, I should probably have done some more proofreading.)

again... BAD AZZ. your suspension is great. and the chain gun...gorgeous.
My favorite feature though BY FAR... that BRUSH GUARD!! that thing is tight. I dont know if your into off-roading much but it looks like a shrockworks bumper ( http://www.shrockworks.com) I wonder, may I incorporate this into my Raptor build? You'd recieve credit of course.
I'm not that into off-roading, but I do love thinking about bashing through stuff with a vehicle. Recently I got into the whole suspension thing, and I've been designing several systems. About your question, go ahead and use away. I also have a page for the system I used for V.1 of this truck: http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/169053 . Oh, and that website- Nice. |

Thanks man. The only reason I ask is because I've been trying to work out suspension for the past week and nothing is working Here's another version if you're interested: http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/169053%3E
The suspension on V.2 is pretty complicated, whereas the mentioned is not. |

I actually meant if you could explain the suspension on this one, sorry!!! not version 1 If I choose to make instructions, I usually post them as a moc on my page. That way everyone can benefit from what I'm explaining.

dude, the extremly easy suspension makes the wheel axel of my big rig assault truck spin like crazy! make instructions for this one because it looks better.~Jerome
The easiest way to stop the spinning is by sandwiching the spinners in between two bricks; one in front and one in back. That will eliminate the spinning.

Great design, alot better than a truck with independent suspension that I tried building. I'll have to take a look at your suspension and see if I could use it by chance and integrate it into my own design. I'll remember to credit you for your suspension. |

Good work...nice suspension.
Could you please take some closer or detailed pics of your suspension? I´m interrested in this one. Check http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/169053> out first. It's alot easier to make. If there are enough people who want this particular design, then I might post it.

nice but i would use the black rectangular rubber bands that way there isnt a white band showing right there. I used the blaks rubber bands for my hummer v.5. It is cool that you fit a bed in there, with my style of small scale independent suspension there isnt room for a bed. However i think you could make the be a little deeper
I thought that someone would mention the bands. Unfurtunately, I didn't have any black bands, and you're definately right; the Black would be better. I can't make the bed deeper though because The wheels are connected to arms that are two studs apart that go up when being pressed. (The arms make a 4-wide system) Any deeper and the bed would interfere with the suspension. In order to maximize suspension, that's about as deep as I wanted to go.
