This is my first off road trail jeep. I borrowed the model from the lego 8297 Jeep. For the record, The wheel base is a bit longer than the original jeep because i made two live steering axle under need it. The jeep is also 4 wheel steering and 4 WD. There is one XL power function motor for the driving and two MD motors for the steering. ( They steer independent from each other.) I thank everyone who put there idea's and pictures on the Internet. This gave me enough inspiration to build this jeep. I thank Lego for the model. The Jeep is heavy, about 1536 gram. But it runs. have fun ...... With regards, Ludo (L.J.)

Wow looks very complicated . So much complicated that to me this looks like a bunch of technical pieces put together and its very much cramped in there. Must be very hard to build. No wonder its heavy.

Quoting Ean Jurgens Could u send me directions on how to build the front steering? im working on a new truck and i would like steering with for wheel drive i have the back done i just need the front i have looked around and your steering is the best.
Thanks for the complement. I you want to use our truck for trail riding then look at my red jeep. This is a better one for front drive and steering. It's stronger and can handle rougher terrain.. For the other steering, the best picture i have are at my mocpages. Some things i chanced later on. Look at the little movie for closeups. red jeep http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/183165 Greets Ludo

Great work. It's nice to see some custom suspensions rather than the prefabricated ones by LEGO.

Super add ons. I saw some trail jeeps like Lego vehicles, but this one is in a sense very funny to look at, because it's a custom modified 8279! I'm a fan!

Very nice looking truck. I really like the suspention / steering combination on both the axles. Personally, I would connect the two steeringsystems because it's kinda hard to synchronize both wheels, which in case makes the car go wander. But it's still great you made it work.
