"Flak Jack" A Scorpion-class Attack Bomber
The "Flak Jack" is one in a class of thousands of fighter-bombers that the UNE uses across the galaxy to pound relentless punishment into the enemy. Carrying up to 2,250 lbs of ordinance, the Scorpion-class is a potent weapon to bring to bear. This is my entry for the 3rd vs. 3rd Fleet MOC-off. Here's hoping that Oucho T Cactus doesn't blow me out of the sky...
About this creation

I embellished the design with something that purists will hate me for, but it made it more realistic to me.

Though the Scorpion is a purpose-built attack bomber, enemy fighter pilots are still wary of attacking. The Scorpions have an armament compliment that can rip apart an aircraft with one shot. (Dive brakes are flared in main picture)

Specifications:

Classification: Attack Bomber
System of origin: United Nations of Earth; Third Fleet
Combat weight: 80 tonnes
Length/width: 12 meters/14 meters
Engine: Twin Type 36C Thrusters developing a total of 4600N thrust
Combat speed: 900-1500kph
Number built: Original order of 1500 for fleet use, more on order as they become necessary.
Armament: 2x 12.7mm cannon
2x 30mm cannon
Range: 1 million kilometers
Crew: Pilot/gunner, bombardier/navigator

Heavily armored as it is, the canopies are reinforced by industrial diamond fibers, doubling their strength.

Unit tail markings.

In addition to carrying the mother-of-all-bombs, a heavy-hitting 2230-lb buster; Scorpions can store mixed arms. Here, HE combined with incendiary are a dangerous mix for the target.

This reminds me of the A-10 Warthog, built around a cannon and meant to pulverize the enemy. Kudos!

Quoting Mark Kelso Well, this was a very close decision, but I'm giving you my vote. Congrats! I think you just edged out your opponent with build complexity, and your cleaner presentation puts it over the top for me.
Wow! Thank you! Oucho certainly gave me a run, I don't like push-over wins, but glad that I fell on the right side of that razor's edge!

I love the old timey feel of this plane. It spans several eras in one MOC. It feels like a cross between sci-fi and WWII. I look forward to seeing more like this.

Quoting Marc Runde Nice fighter-bomber, the first shot made me think of old german "Stuka" planes, like the Junkers Ju 87 or other planes of that kind. The double bubble canopy looks great. A very well designed fighter-bomber!
I was going for that look, glad I accomplished it!

Wicked cool. Sci-fi builders underestimate the importance of atmospheric flight.

Quoting LegoTrooper 101 You are genius. There is no way around it. And how did you get the model in that background, Photoshop?
A similar program called Windows Picture It. That picture is actually from WWII, a B-17 is blocked by the Scorpion's right wing.
