He-Man and the Masters of the Universe: Skeletor's Hover Sled and Minifigs
Skeletor's Hover Sled from the 1987 movie, He-Man and the Masters of the Universe; as well as minifigs of some of the main characters.
About this creation

Here's a slightly different one...

My little brother has been pestering me to watch our old VHS tape of 'He-Man and the Masters of the Universe' (1987) with him ever since I got back home for christmas.
A couple of days ago, I got round to doing so.
Then, all he-hyped on he-man he pestered me non stop to build "that Skeletor trailer ship thingy" with him.
I got round to that today.

I know, it's a crappy film, stereotypical of 80's sci-fi/fantasy/action, but it's so bad it's good, it's got a sort of charm that I love in those old movies :)

So here we go. Some of the main characters made out of lego (in photo order; Man-at-arms, Teela, He-Man, Gwildor, Skeletor Soldier, Skeletor. Sorry for the way they only half-resemble the characters they're supposed to represent, this is caused by me having no better minifig body parts than those used. I had to get creative for Gwildor's dwarf legs, seeing as I didn't have any green ones.

As for Skeletor's Hover Sled (or sop I've chosen to call it; no idea what it's really called), the only good reference picture, on top of still-fresh images from the film, was this : . Only shows one angle; though in the film you can see its length and various other details. Still it doesn't make much of an appearance so it's hard to make something 100% accurate.

Also hard was the reduced choice of black parts after my recent Black Sun Empire stuff; and the best parts I could find meant building most of the model upside-down, which was quite interesting to do. Only the middle shaft and front part are right-way-up.

At the front is the pilot; on either side a gunner, and in the middle of course, Skeletor's throne (hmm, maybe 'Floating Throne' is better then 'Hover Sled' ?)

I also gave it a number plate, since as much of an evil master as he is, Skeletor is still a citizen like every other and must abide the law and road-legality vehicle legislations. In other words even Skeletor can be fined for speeding if the cameras catch him.

Enjoy :)

P.S. If you are looking to buy lego for your creations, I would like to recommend the following Bricklink lego shop ; "About Town, Castle & Train" ( )
I personally know the shopholders, and they are very nice, devoted people. They are currently sponsoring 100% of my 1/3 Lamborghini project, providing all of the parts; and have made various other donations to other models I have made.
The store has a wide selection of parts (over 600,000!), at good prices, and offer an exceptional, fast service (no tax or dodgy exchange rates, next day postage, etc). you won't be disappointed !
P.P.S. I'm not getting anything out of 'advertising' for them; they're genuinely a good lego shop who'll really do their best for you :)
