A new series of ship designs for the Systems Police
About this creation
Front View. The view an unlucky pirate or smuggler most often will see.
Top view. Turrets can bring three batteries to bear on any one target.
Port. That's the side you don't pass by on.
Under View. Note the shuttle bay hatch and two maintenance lock hatches
Rear. Fortunately the ship is not underway right now, or we'd have been fried.
Shown is the light cruiser Pandora, a step up in armament from the previous series of light cruiser (The Vigilance class). The cruiser carries two standard dual phase disruptor cannon and two tri-phase particle beamers, recently developed by Tesla Electrodyne, a subsidiary of BII; a crew of fifty, and two shuttle craft. The engines were also designed by Tesla and have a range of 10.7 light years before needing a recharge.

The ship is a little too curvy for me but those turrets and the bridge are great!
Well, you know the police like curves. (Just ask Phipson!). :D :D Truth is, I just can't seem to get away from those things. (I try to get out but they keep pulling me back in!) I do think that future spacecraft in reality aren't going to be so sleek and streamlined, though. There's no atmospheric drag in space, so you don't need the rounded hulls. I'm not saying everything will look like boxes, but we will mot likely see a lot of odd looking vessels produced.
Thanks. I took another look at her and realized I'd forgotten to add her captain's name! That would be Commander Gillian Boardman, whom I'm given to understand was a nurse before she joined the Systems Police.

An interesting and innovative departure from the classic "SW star destroyer" type of ship. Elegant, and the turrets are very well done !
I'm glad you like the turrets; I was afraid they looked too large, but that's as small as I could make them and still hide that gun mount, which really looks strange. Yup, Pandora's quite a lady, but she can also be a _____ toward those who break the law. her captain, by the way, is Commander Celestine Decatur (a family with a long naval tradition). The light cruisers, BTW, are named for figures and creatures in mythology; medium cruisers are named for real fauna and geographical features; heavy cruisers for countries, cities, and historical personages. Fighter pilots are allowed to give their ships personal nicknames; Nova's named hers "Valkyrie".
