This is the classiest transport craft in the history of transport craft. Not only does it drop at dizzying speeds onto a planet, it also has a driver in front to guide/drive the craft. There are also a pair of anti-material autocannons on the front for clearing an LZ. Blinding entrance? Check. Awesome firepower? Check. Clever shape? Double Check. The purpose of this craft is to provide highly trained units to the front lines fast. The transport is launched directly at the planet and once the craft is well into the atmosphere, the wings unfurl. As the ship rapidly decelerates, the driver pulls the craft up and prepares to deploy troops. This all happens in a matter of three minutes, compared to nearly forty that regular transports take. The only downside is that very few troops can be loaded into each transport (usually squads of five).
