These are my entries for the group 'Makutas Sons' farewell contest. Just to stop any confusion Artakha is the name of an island and the bionicle I made and Makuta Kojol is the assigned Makuta of Artakha. More info below.
About this creation
Note: All info below comes from bionicle wiki. Links here:
Artakha :
"Do not, it is too late. But there is another who can aid you, if I have fallen. Go to him. Persuade him to join your fight. There is still time, I will send you to him. The rest is up to you."
—Artakha to Lewa, Reign of Shadows
Artakha is Karzahni's "brother" and the ruler of Artakha, the Great Refuge. Long before Mata Nui was sent into the world by the Great Beings, Artakha and Karzahni were created and given their own realms to guard by the Great Beings. While Karzahni lived in a horrific place where Matoran were sent to be repaired, Artakha chose to govern a refuge where no evil could enter. For a long time, they were both believed to be simply legend, but Karzahni and his realm were recently discovered to be real, proving that the legends (or at least those concerning Karzahni) were true. The Toa Nuva recently encountered the voice of Artakha and received new Adaptive Armor and adaptive weapons from him.
Legends says that Artakha bears the Mask of Creation and that nobody has even seen him in person. Some presumed him to be a Great Being while others think he is Mata Nui himself, although these facts have been disproved. However, it is known that Artakha is a great designer and many modern cities such as Metru Nui were based on his designs of his own island, Artakha. Many of the early Toa Tools were said to be crafted by him and the Matoran which worked for him. It is said that shall a Matoran want anything built, they would leave the raw materials at the gate of his fortress and return the next day to find their desired object made for them.
Kojol :
Kojol was a Makuta, and was assigned to the Artakha area. He was highly secretive, never revealing his knowledge to even his fellow Makuta, not even the location of Artakha. 1,500 years before the Great Cataclysm, he led a strike force of Rahkshi and Visorak into Artakha and stole the Kanohi Mask of Light, so that the Brotherhood of Makuta could ensure no Toa of Light ever came to be. Kojol was killed when, in response to the Brotherhood's attack, the Ruler of Artakha asked the Order of Mata Nui to destroy all maps with Artakha on them and kill anyone who knew its location. The Order of Mata Nui tampered with his metal-eating virus so that the virus would destroy Protosteel and his essence was incinerated in a furnace at Xia. How exactly his essence ended up in the furnace is unknown.
The great Artakha.
The now deceased Makuta Kojol.
Some extra pics.
Winner of Makuta's Sons Farewell Contest. Hope you all enjoyed.
Keep MOCing!

Excellent, mine opponent, Thou hast great potential. Okay, enough Shakespear, Great MOC! I really like Artakha's Wings and Kojol's Spines, really unique. Also, Kojol's Claws are super uber. Although, i think MINE:

Wow! I like both of your creations! I think you are among the few underated mocer who have the skills and the ingenuity not seen in many mocers. You defintely deserve more recognition! Also I applaud you for your style of not wanting just to use the mask of a commercial set in most of your creations.
Hmmm... now that I have seen your quality creation. It temps me to join in the contest to give you some competition.
Thanks, I've never really liked mocs that use masks already made by lego. I think it's worth the extra few minutes comming up with a head.
Also if you enter the contest good luck!

No, masks were never made for these two and I rather make my own heads so the bionicles look uniqe. Thanks for commenting. |
