Suzuki Escudo Pikes Peak from 5867
A model of one of the world's most famous hillclimb cars built entirely from set 5867.
About this creation
Here's a model of the famed Suzuki Escudo Pikes Peak. This car is built entirely out of pieces from 5867 Super Speedster, which I received for Christmas of '09. I have to say that it is the the first good car I've ever built out of a Creator set :) Some parts of this vehicle might not be totally dead-on, but I still think it's pretty accurate, considering the selection of pieces I had to work with. Also, I guess you could call this my second 10-wide, so yippee! That's two on my resumé!

Here's the equation for personal building challenges: idea plus a given amount of parts equals a challenge.

Front angle. Yes, it's a pretty outrageous-looking car in real life too :D

Side view. I had to use SNOT for the sides since Creator sets never give you wall pieces.

Back angle. I didn't really have a reference pic for the rear, so I just kind of... made one up.

Top view. Notice the flared fenders.

Front detail. Pretty accurate here... I like the capped-off lights best.

Back detail. Notice the twin exhaust pipes underneath.

Yeah, the spoiler could've been bigger and it could've been red. But it was the last part I built, so it got a pretty small selection of parts.

Interior. I'm really pleased how this turned out. The blue tiles that you get in the set are just so... perfect.

An extra shot of the hood, to show the array of smooth elements used here.

A little off-road action can't hurt :)

Back view, and one of my favorite shots.

Building real life car in LEGO is difficult enough, even more so with limited selection of bricks, but you executed it neatly.

Very nice job with the limited partspack you used! Check out the 'Alternate designs of a Creator' group which is all about building cool models using parts from only 1 creator set. This would be a great addition!

The crazy cars ALWAYS make for some crazy good LEGO models. The shape of the car itself, plus the huge spoilers are an extremely good use of the pieces in this set! Also, I like the shots of it driving over the rocks.
