The titular enemy from the "metroid" video games. This Metroid is at the final stage of its life.
About this creation
The fifth and final stage of life for most metroids. Featured in Metroid II as well as being the final boss in Metroid Fusion. I based this one mostly on the fusion version. I'm pretty proud of this guy. It took me forever to figure out how to do the chest. I'm not to happy with the legs though, I just kinda threw them together. They're usually the first thing to break off if he falls over.

It actually goes infant,metroid,alpha,gamma,zeta,omega,and queen.
A quick trip to wikitroid reveals that you are correct. Although I don't see much of a difference between infant and larval.
Also, not every omega metroid becomes a queen, thus making it USUALLY the last stage of a metroid's life. Omega is cooler than queen anyway.
