The Tanneth Incident
About this creation
Part one

While en route to aid Republic forces in the outer rim, Jedi Master Salis receives a distress call from refugees on the former separatist world of Tanneth. Unable to take the refugees on board due to the upcoming battle, Salis decides to leave a small contingent of clones to watch over the refugees until he can return…

Commander Switch: “General Salis. We are in orbit around Tanneth.”

Commander Switch: “The refugees have set up a small camp on the shore of this lake here on the Eastern side of this continent.”

General Salis: “Excellent Commander. We’ll send down a small force to defend the area from separatist sympathizers until we can return. I don’t foresee any separatist interference, but just to be sure.”

General Salis: “Captain Pit, prepare for drop. We’ll be back to pick you and the refugees up within the month.”
Captain Pit: “Yes sir.”

Captain Pit: “Slammer, We’ve got ourselves a babysitting job. Ready the boys.”

Commander Switch: “Sir, with all due respect, Pit has been a little “edgy” recently. Do you really think he’s the best choice for this mission?”
Salis: “Not entirely. But maybe some down time on this peaceful planet is just what he needs to get himself together.”
Switch: I have a bad feeling about this..."

Captain Pit lands his CR-20 transport partially hidden behind a rocky outcropping and with artistic precision, deploys his troops to secure the area…

Pit: “Alright maggots, spread out!”

Pit: “Secure this area. You will consider this a hot zone until I say otherwise.”

Pit: “Glimmer. Why aren’t you up on that ledge giving me a visual all clear of the landing zone yet?”
Glimmer: “Because I was cross bred with an Annoonian Sand Sloth sir!”

Pit: “Slammer, as soon as this area is five by five, I want a team ready to go and check on the refugee camp.”
Slammer: “Yes sir.”

Pickshot: “Point 3 all clear.”
Glimmer: “Point 7 all clear.”
Raz: “Point 9 all clear.”
Slammer: “All points report clear sir. You have a three man team standing by waiting for your orders.”

Pit: “Alright you mynocks. Follow the river two clicks south to the camp. Make contact and give me a full situation report.”
Troopers: “Yes sir!”

To be continued in part two

Fourth Wall Commentary: Yeap, that’s right. Phipson is doing Clone Wars! This is part one of a three part series. I hope to have parts 2 and 3 done very soon so you don’t have to wait too long. I’ll save the full fourth wall commentary till the final post! One thing I WILL do for the next two parts is a better pic of that opening sign. The lighting on that was just awful and I apologize for you having to see it…

Till next episode true believers!

Behind the scenes "Fun Facts"
1. An Annoonian Sand Sloth is an actual creature in the Star Wars Universe, as is the Mynock.

2. The CR-20 is also a real ship in the Star Wars Universe. I only built the front half however due to size restrictions on the layout itself and lack of parts to build an entire one.

3. The water/beach area... yeah, basically I messed that up and had built too much to go back and redo the entire set. The river set up in the next post is much better. Not perfect, but much better.

4. The only moc still together is the Clone Wars sign. I'll try to get some better pics of that for the next two episodes. The other sets are already torn down and sorted back into the collective. All the pics of the landing zone set you'll see in the upcoming episodes are already taken.

5. Fun facts are fun. Now, in the immortal words of Keith Goldman, "Go get some sleep you paste eater!"

This is a nice comic- btw there is one more funny fact: in game The Clone Wars Republic heroes (bad game though) there actually is a clone named "Switch"- is this a coincidence or this supposed to be same clone? maybe- since these guys are phase two- he might have become a commander- anyway nice work- could take a look at my new SW-stuff i have returned to work with Star Wars...

Nice story, the dialogue flows well and the scenes are quite good. The interior of the ship in the opening few scenes really turned out nice. I shall await part 2 with as much enthusiasm as I await the Clone Wars episodes on TV. Oh, wait, I have not watched any of those since season one….well, I am waiting for yours!

Excellent work, Phipson! I have to admit, it's been as much fun, though, reading through everyone's comments so far. Just as you predicted! Nice way to throw 'em for a loop. Solid work on the presentation here, too, so I'm really looking forward to seeing the next one if you feel it's going to be better. Catch ya on the phone to go into some details about this one, but meanwhile, great post!!!

OK, I admit that like many others I casually expected puns, innuendo, an occasional in-joke or two. But wait! What's that? A reference to Mynocks! A character uttering "I've got a bad feeling about this"? As the wonderpets would put it,this is serious. Am looking forward to seeing some more. Lovely details on the ship's bridge. Oh, and thrilled to see somebody is already questioning the phase II armour, now i'm looking out for somebody to ask whether you use sharpie or paint ;)

Wow, this is some nice work (as mentioned before, the bridge is very good). And very promising for the next episodes. I can't help but feeling there is going to be a joke in the end, but I won't be disappointed if there's not. BTW could you check out mi latest awsum MOC?

  January 21, 2010
It's just so sad when everyone views you as some type of cliche; a serious build is not out of the realm of possibility for you. However, those that are wondering where the innuendo is, obviously have never enjoyed a 'Commander Switch' nor been privy to a 'Pickshot'. Great stuff! If I can ever finish this Atlantis stuff I'm building, I might have time to get back to some Star Wars stuff myself. Now, back to work! We demand more!~H

at first i thought: oh no, another halo/clonewars kiddie, but then i saw "chris phipthingy" pasted across the top of the page and i thought: did someone hack his acount? but thank goodness it's a really honest to goodness Star Wars (not cartoon clone wars) moc, by someone who is actually old enough to have watched the original trilogy. now i'm interested in what happens next

WHAAAT?? No phalis or clonetard jokes?! Impossible! It can not be! This is about as expected as brian k building a brightly colored MOC! Hhmmmm this has to be a joke in some way... (well nice build anyway. If there had been any badly drawn decal wearing clones I would have drifted into a coma)

I knew there was a line I'd forgotten to add. I had it all written out and said "hey, I should add that line" and then totally forgot. Thanks for the reminder!
Quoting Doctor Sushi A good Clone Wars series with no customizations or wacky phrases, but serious and real Star Wars stuff? No. No. No. There's a trick. This isn't real. I'm on to you, bub.
Oh how I wish that were true... but no, it's real.
Quoting Matt Shack that is because it is clone wars and the Phase two clones were near the end of it
You seemed to have missed the sarcasm in my last response... This story takes place "sometime" between the battle of Geonosis and Order 66. In other words... they can have any phase armor they want.

Hmmm... I don't remember seeing a BBY date stamp on this post? Why couldn't they be in phase two armor?
Quoting Space Pirate Is this part of a bet?
God I wish.
Quoting Dylan B I still can't figure out what exactly that red/grey thing behinds the mountain is....the ship? Nicely done. -Dylan
Yeap, that's the front end of a CR-20 troop transport.
Quoting JD Luse Fun episode, Chris! By way of criticism I think the beach and water could have a little variation in texture and color. But I love those cliffs. In other news, I just signed in for the first time in a month...
I agree. However, when doing a story like this, some details have to be sacrificed. If this were a static dio or stand alone moc, I'd agree 100%. That being said, the water work I did on the "refugee camp" in the next episode is much better. And I was wondering where the heck you'd been...

  January 21, 2010
Wow! Barely any jokes, Sure shocked me. Great story line, And even better build. the yellow dots that appear as stars are genious! I've just got one criticism on the build, from the ground to the water there was no slant. Not sure if you did that on purpose or what?, But I would like to see more texture and deatail there. Anyways enough with the negativity, This is awesome!

What!? No innuendo? No Kelso jabs? but I digress. Great scenery on the moc, and great design on the bridge; especially the entrance doors and the rounded rectangular window.
  January 21, 2010
Solid builds, great pacing to the story, and the promise of action! Perhaps baby Han Solo is about to learn how to use a blaster? One question: if they're clones, how'd they get cool names like "Slammer," "Pit," or "Oregano"?
