About this creation
Part one here
Part two here
A small contingent of clone troopers, led by the overzealous Captain Pit, has been charged with protecting a small group of refugees on the former separatist world of Tanneth.
Convinced that the refugees are in fact separatist spies, Captain Pit has rallied his men and is advancing on the defenseless camp…
Pit: “Alright men, this is it! You’ll all be heroes for this. Let’s wipe this place clean!”

Jace: “NO! What are you doing? Stop this, please!”

Pit: “Death to the separatists!”

The slaughter is quick and over before it barely had begun…
Slammer: “Captain, it’s over. The refugees… I mean separatist spies put up little resistance. Some of the prisoners have already been taken back to the landing zone.”

Pit: “Then it’s time to make an example out of them.”

Pit: “Leave these bodies for the buzzards as a message to the seps of what happens to spies.”

Back at the drop zone…
Pit: “You’ve been charged with treason against the republic. How do you plea?”

Jace: “We are not traitors. We are refugees and citizens of the Republic.”

Pit: “That’s what I thought you’d say. Execute them.”

Cypher: “But sir, shouldn’t we hold them for trial? They are prisoners of war.”

Pit: “Questioning orders in a time of war is treason and punishable by death. Consider your sentence carried out trooper.”

Pit: “Any last words that you think will help?”
Jace: “We are innocent.”
Pit: “I thought not.”

Within a matter of seconds, it is over. Though not all of the troopers are entirely pleased with the outcome…
Pit: “The separatist spies have been taken care of. There’s no reason for us to stay here any longer. Prepare to break camp.”

Slammer: “This has gone too far sir. Be advised that I am filing a report on this and there will be a full investigation.”

Pit: “I WAS the investigation. There will be no report and you are sentenced to death for being a separatist sympathizer!”

Raz: “That’s enough! Get him!”

Pit: “Traitors! All of you!”

Pit: “TRAITORS!!!!!!”

Pit: “They’re… dead.”

Pit: “The traitorous scum are all… hehehe… dead!”

The next morning, General Salis has returned to the Tanneth system to pick up Captain Pit, his troops and the refugees. What he finds in their place however, is another matter…
General Salis: “By the force, what happened here?

Commander Switch: “They’ve been wiped out sir. To a man, all of them.”
Salis: “No, not all. One here still lives. Perhaps we can find the answers we seek.”

Salis: “Captain Pit. What happened here?”
Pit: “The separatist problem here has been taken care of General… hehe… I killed them.”

Pit: “I killed all of them… All the criminals are dead with the exception of one murderer.”
Salis: NO!

Salis: “We’d better go and check out the camp…”

Salis: “I don’t think we’ll find any of the answers we’re looking for here.”

A short while later at the refugee camp…
Switch: “They killed them all sir, even the women and children. What could have made Pit do this?”

Salis: “No one knows what drives men to do what they do. We should head back to the ship. Nothing more can be done for these people.”

Switch: “Right behind you sir.”
(To the communicator) Switch: “This is Switch, go ahead.”
Gravelly voice over holo: “Commander. It is time. Execute Order 66.”

Salis: “Hold on a second… are these battle droid foot prints?”
Switch: “It will be done my lord.”

Fourth Wall Commentary: And that my friends, is how you do a Clone Wars Comic. It's funny that so many of you think that I "hate" Star Wars. That couldn’t be further from the truth. I grew up on star wars! I remember being 3 years old, playing with my action figures while watching the imposing Darth Vader walking down the white halls of the Tantive 4… but I digress. I’ve been wanting to do a star wars post for some time now. I haven’t done one in nearly two years and it was high time I did.
One of the other things that made me giggle along this journey, is how some of you are going on and on about Phase 2 clones… Now, correct me if I’m wrong… but I’m pretty sure I bought these clones in boxes marked with “LEGO” and “Clone Wars.” Shouldn’t it stand to reason that these clones were in fact active during the Clone Wars if they were sold in Clone Wars sets? Oh yeah, and secondly on this issue… IT’S FICTION PEOPLE! Try to enjoy it for the story telling aspect… Ahem, ok, I’m done.
The next question you’re probably asking yourself is “Why did you do this in three separate posts?” Blame Dennis Price. HAHA Sounds like a joke, but when I was putting it together this week, I mentioned to Dennis that it was way too long for one post. He suggested breaking it up into three. He was right. Doing this also helped set the pacing and create suspense for the story. Good call Dennis, I owe ya one.
OH, and who liked the double twist on the end?
Well, that’s it for Star Wars for now. I’ve got a “special order” build next that I’ve been putting off for far too long. Till next time true believers!
BONUS FEATURES!
Some behind the scenes shots of the different sets used in this comic.
The Landing Zone

The next two are shots of the Star Destroyer bridge.

And finally, an overhead view of the refugee camp.

Thanks for sticking around through the credits!

Brrr frightening ! Love the whole thing because there's a real deep in the story. A real SW tragedy, it changes from a lot of SW MOCs which seems to be an ad singing "War is so funny". I was six when I saw "Return of the Jedi" for the first time and it was great. Now, since the new movies, it seems that the best things/ideas in the SW universe comes from fans, not from Lucas. A great story and a great build !

What should I do if I ever see you or any other AFOL at a Brickcon?
Run screaming and don't, under any circumstances, ever look back. Joking aside, come on up and introduce yourself. I can only speak for the AFOLs I've met personally and myself, but we all love interacting with every member of the community. It's as cool for us, if not cooler, to be able to meet you guys and be able to put a face to the name. Looking forward to meeting you someday! ~ Chris. |

Great stuff Chris. It's testament to the tale you've spun that you carried three episodes with only three 'sets' and figs, yet held the interest and built to an unexpected conclusion. Brilliant work, my friend! Not only does this offer us some great building, but a story line worthy of Lucas' own tale-telling skills. (Although, I'd have suggested you dumb down the dialog if you really wanted to parallel Georgie's stuff...that was too believable!) Now we can spend the next couple of weeks waxing poetic about the mythological parallels and the archetypal characters, as is customary with any good George Lucas material! ;) |

great work btu you lost me at the end, just got confused by what really happened
Not only to oucho, but to everyone else with questions... Yes, Pit WAS insane. He really didn't have any proof that the refugees were spies. The irony lies in the fact that he was actually right! Of course, the only person to figure out that he was right was Master Salis, who of course is killed by Switch about 5 seconds after that last panel... so no one ever knows the truth about what happened on Tanneth. Thanks for playing along everyone! ~Chris |

So, Pit WAS a Section 8 after all. I should have expected it, but I didn't. And I'd forgotten all about Order 66, which when it was executed in the movie, kind of shook my faith in the abilities of the Jedi. Oh, I knew they weren't "supermen", but I hadn't expected them to be taken down so easily. Anyway, I really enjoyed this three parter, and I have to push you now to do MORE Star Wars! May the Schwartz - I mean - Force - be with you. |
