There's been an influx of some awesome Lego Pokémon on MOCpages, most notabley from Kevin Pierce and Tracy Bowersox. I couldn't miss out on the spotlight, so I spent 1.50 on a damn castle plume to outfit my newest Pokémon, Wartortle.
Wartortle is a pure water Pokémon and is the middle child of the Squirtle family. While not as good as his big brother, Blastoise, he can learn some powerful moves like Hydro Pump, Surf and Bite, at lower levels. He looks pretty slick, too with those big feathery ears and tail.
Construction was a little bit of a challenge. Two neck brackets hold the shell together, and the base of a lever keeps the plumed tail on. Also, because of all the white, I had to take the picture against the chrome stand of my iMac. Still, it was a very fun build and the results were satisfactory.
Trainer Mikey would like to battle! Expect to see a few more minifig scale monsters in the future, and maybe some trainers and a stadium to battle in.
A reference picture of this tailed terrapin.
