Jeep Wrangler "TJ" (1997-2006) Complete with lots of accessories and working suspension.
About this creation
***UPDATED***
Sorry my camera is not the best, these pictures really do not do this build justice.
POINTS OF PRIDE:
This looks VERY similar to a jeep TJ (I should know, I own one) and I recently ripped it apart and put in steering, but at the cost of the working suspension. Windshield folds down, trunk opens, hood opens to reveal a v8 engine (Not stock on real TJ's haha). The high-lift jack on the hood, shovel in the trunk, winch on the bumper, and fire extinguishers on the roll bars all add to the look a jeep should have. As far as a LEGO build goes, one of the toughest things about doing a jeep wrangler has always been getting the fender flares just right. I am happy with how they came out here.
I also recently fixed a couple minor inaccuracies, the most obvious being that the door openings are now wider.
POINTS OF SHAME:
No pliable suspension. The hood does not open EXACTLY like how a real jeep's opens. It's close, but not perfect. And, yes, the front seats are stolen from the Lambo set 8169... But the back seat is a creation of my own.

I dont know why but I like Jeep Wranglers in LEGO, but not in real life. There are lots of cool wranglers in MOCpages and yours is one of them. Great job! |

Awesome job! Great features, especially all the opening stuff. Shame about the steering - getting the wheel lined up is always a pain. Why not use Hand of God steering though? The bodywork's really accurate too, so 9/10 overall. Add HOG steering and it's a 10!
Okay, Ape Fight... I did it. The steering wheel works and all. Thanks for the motivation!

The rock crawling version of this shouldnt be too hard, you'd just have to see how much flex you could get outta the suspension.
Have you ever thought of doing a CJ scrambler moc?
The CJs are too curvy for me. I tend to be a perfectionist and the TJ's are a little more squared off. This made it easier to do than a scrambler.
Right now my intention is to get this build PERFECT, with a pleasing suspension and maybe even steering... and never break it down. Haha... we'll see. |

I feel like you could whip up a really good rock cralwing moc with all these jeeps
Yeah I would like to give that a try. I'm pretty sure My next project is going to be a rock-crawling version of THIS jeep, with the fenders cut, a more elaborate roll cage, and a much more complex suspension. |

ugh... I've gone back and forth about the steering like 4 times. Maybe I'll give 'hand of god' steering another try. (I never heard it called that before by the way, but I immediately knew what you meant)
thanks! |
