A minifig-scale model of an engine for a Firefly type ship.
About this creation
This is an engine that I cobbled together for a planned minifig-scale model of a Firefly-class ship (like Serenity, but I want to do it in greys and reds, without all the tan). It turned out to be a pretty big engine, but that's okay, the Firefly is a pretty big ship. This means that it might be some time before I actually build the whole thing, however!
Here is the engine from the back. Don't even think about how many helicopters I bought to get that many of the dark grey hinged 1 by 8 plates (I have enough for two of the engines, of course, in case I ever try to build the entire ship!)
Here is an overhead view showing the general shape of the engine. Also, I did not attempt to match old and new grey in this model - in fact, quite the opposite: I mixed them on purpose. I think this gives it a more 'used' look, like parts were replaced with newer parts that did not quite match. At any rate, if you don't like this mixed look, that is fine, just please realize that you are disagreeing with an artistic decision that I made, and don't just accuse me of not knowing any better please!
YES! Excellent. I'm a Browncoat myself that's trying to make a Firefly-class transport (Not having much luck though, keep running out of pieces!) The engine is done very well, and the size is just about perfect. Check out my Mule on my MOCPages soon!

Ohh my gosh! I saw this on the home page and had to click it. I am a huge fan of Firefly and Serenity, and have the comics, Ect. Anyway any other fans should go to reasonablyclever.com, they have minifigs and a whole Serenity! Plus other stuff, anyway I love this for the sheer firefly-ness, but the model itself is very good. Great job, especialy with the fins on the back! See-yah!
Super Shiny. I love all of the details that you made, especially the nozzle vanes. Since your scale is pretty large, I'm going to wish you all the luck you can get for such a great undertaking should you try to construct the entire ship. (You're going to need to win the lottery, too, to pay for the bricks.)
