The station square, with it's dock was a bustling marketplace in the 18th century. In 1865 the train station was built and the former market square was renamed "Station square".

The station square today has a bustling market too, but it's just half of what it used to be. There is an underground station for quick travelling in the region.
The underground station. I used the same technique as in the Kennemer Tunnel .
The inner city garbage collectors. The city streets are too narrow for cars, so they use these vehicles.

Ahh... This is the pleasure of living in Holland. coffeeshops full of weed. It actually is legal here.
Now on to the market: This is the toy stall, a little kid is trying out one of the balls.
Most people won't find this stall attractive, but some do enjoy it. The fish seller.
When on the market, you can also buy some handy tools from Bert.
Also, when you need cloth, or other things to make clothes and stuff. The market is the place to be.
Fresh from the east, the Asian goods are hard to miss.
These poles are to prevent cars from driving onto the market. The white one is movable so stall owners may dump their wares.
The worst job on the market I suppose. Cleaning the mess other people make. It is necessary though.
A cat likes the scent of fresh fishies, and attempts to steal one.

This bridge was built in 1867 to get the train station more connected with the inner city.
