But back over on The Calm Before the Storm’s bridge, everyone was completely unaware of what had transpired on the other F.I.S. cruiser.
“Guard Iadsgb as well.” Blast asked Fixer then moved away as his second’ started switching his aim between the two prisoners.
Blast pushed a lever on a control panel upwards then typed in a code.

The television screen in the corner of the room flickered onto a fuzzy picture, as did every other tele’ on that cruiser, the other two and every single screen across the galaxy.

Iadsgb frowned in confusion while still keeping a wary eye on the gun pointed at his head.
R.K. pushed another button and the fuzzy picture on the screen disappeared and was replaced with the footage a built in camera in front of him was filming. Iadsgb had had it installed so that he could make announcements to everyone on his ship.

“People of the galaxy!” Blast spoke to the camera, and as he did so, every single person across the universe stopped what they were doing and watched the man on the screen, including members of the U.R.S. and F.I.S.. The battle came to a halt as everybody watched what was happening on the bridge of The Calm Before the Storm.
“I am R.K. Blast; leader of the United Rebelling Systems. You might remember what happened to me as head of the Federation of Independent Systems, of how I was betrayed and those of you who have been following the stories of my war against the F.I.S. will know what has been happening recently. But now…"

R.K. walked backwards to stand where he had been a few minuets ago next to Fixer with his gun aimed at a nervous Iadsgb.

“But now, has come a decisive moment in the war. A decisive moment in history. I, along with my second in command, Galactic Marine RC-1140 Fixer, have captured Commander Iadsgb and Jamie Clift, the main leaders of the F.I.S..” Blast looked at Fixer who nodded slightly in a reassuring way then turned back to the camera.
People galaxy-wide watched the U.R.S. Commanders holding the F.I.S. leaders at gunpoint.
“In the past I have been kind and forgiving and sometimes, sometimes at the most crucial moments, it has been my undoing. So this time…” he looked at Iadsgb. “This time will be different. This war ends now! The legendary war between the United Rebelling Systems and the Federation of Independent Systems will finish NOW! Blast shouted and looked the terrified Iadsgb in the eyes.
“Goodbye Iadsgb!” Blast shouted and prepared to pull his trigger and destroy the man he had once called a friend, but a shiver went down his spine as Iadsgb’s expression changed from terror to a smile and Jamie gasped.

Jamie gasped and so did every single person watching a screen across the universe.
“Ha ha ha.” Iadsgb laughed. “Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha.” Blast shivered and turned round to look at Fixer, but instead looked straight down the barrel of a blaster.

Fixer’s blaster.
“Fixer?” Blast asked nervously.
“I’m sorry R.K.” he replied with a sniff. The universe looked on as the U.R.S.’s second in command stood there with his blaster aimed at R.K.’s head.
“I’m sorry.” He repeated.

Blast dropped his guns to the floor and slowly raised his arms above his head.

“Ha ha ha. Well well well, it appears that you can no longer trust the people you trusted most Blast. You have been betrayed. Betrayed by your closest ally. Now let this be a lesson to you. Perhaps in the future you’ll choose your friends more carefully.” Iadsgb taunted.

“Now, there’s just one thing left for me to do…” Iadsgb swung out and whacked Blast in the head, knocking him to the floor.

On the bridge of The Desolation, Padfoot, Jelli and Falcon all winced as they watched Blast be hit.

“Well what are we doing just standing here? Let’s do something!” Padfoot said and threw his EMP launcher to the side then sat down at the ship’s auto-turret controls. The other two also took hold of a turbo-turret each.
“Turn to 11o’clock, sector 12, 18. Fire!” Padfoot commanded and they all fired their cannons at The Calm Before the Storm’s bridge.

Over on The Manipulator, Nightblaze and Hess stood on the bridge watching the screen but then saw the lasers flying from the other F.I.S. ship.
“Hm… Odd…” Hess commented.

“Look! There’s one of our boarding pods stuck in the side!” Nightblaze pointed out. “It bust be some of our lot over there. Quick join in!” The two of them leapt into a cannon and also started firing at The Calm’s bridge.

“This is Commander Nightblaze. All batteries fire! Repeat all batteries fire!” he shouted over the ship’s speakers and every gunner ran to their station and joined in the bombardment.

But back where the lasers were aiming, just before the first ones hit, Jamie spotted them.
“Look out!” he yelled and Iadsgb and the betraying Fixer turned to see what he was pointing at.
“TAKE COVER!” Iadsgb and Clift both turned and dived out of harms way, down into the lower part of the bridge.

Fixer looked after them then down at Blast.
“Remember…” Blast croaked but Fixer just looked at him then dived after his new leaders.

The lasers crashed into the walls and they buckled. A few shattered the windows and flew inside, narrowly missing Blast who still lay on the floor. He slowly stretched out picked up his guns and put them in their holders, then twisted himself round, wincing in pain, then pulled himself along the floor towards his boarding pod.

He put his hands on the ramp and hauled himself up and inside while still the lasers swept into the room behind him. He pushed on the control panel and the door shut. He tapped it again and went shooting back towards The Manip’.

“Come on, lets get out of here.” Jelli said to the others on The Desolation’s bridge.
“Yeah.” The three ran towards the door but just as they reached it a loud banging came from the other side.
“Open up!” a voice called. “Open up in 10 or we force our way in!”

“Oops, maybe not that way then.” Falcon commented then looked around the room for another way out. “There!” he said pointing to an equipment rack. “Jetpacks! We’re in the atmosphere, we can fly back!”

“Great idea!” Padfoot ran towards the rack while Jelli and Falcon looked at each other and smiled under their helmets. “Well what are you waiting for?! We haven’t got all day!” Padfoot asked throwing a jetpack to each of them. They put them on then Padfoot blasted a window and they all stood by it.

“Ready? Stay together.” He said. “Here we go!” the three all leapt from the window and activated their jetpacks. Flames burst from the jets and they flew back towards their ship.

“1! OK, we’re coming in!” A beeping noise came from the door and suddenly a hole was blown into it. “Freeze!” the head F.I.S. officer bellowed and dived through the hole onto The Desolation’s bridge. He looked around the room. “Oh…”

“Sir!” one of his troops pointed out of the smashed window and he looked and saw The Manipulator slowly turn around then felt the slight shockwave as it bust off into hyperspace.

BUT WHAT WILL HAPPEN NEXT? FIND OUT IN PART 10! COMING FRIDAY 12TH JANUARY!
