Robot mode: the robot mode is partly inspired by the Beast Machines era "vehicons" which had very stylised robot modes. The idea of no legs was used by Jetstorm.

Sub Mode: this started out as a shark, but the more I added the more "machine" like it seemed to me, so I ditched the obvious shark aspect and went fully "sub" like, adding extra intake tubes and what could be torpedo tubes.
[planned changes: the rear section didn't work the way I wanted it to, but I needed some way to fill in the middle section in robot form. once I add legs to the robot mode that will change. I may make a shark like tail or larger rear engines to form the legs]

Function: marine combat specialist
character: Riptide has two default settings, happy and sneaky. He would like nothing more than for every Autobot to enjoy the freedom of the ocean as he does. And he would love nothing more than to see every Decepticon rusting at the bottom of the ocean. A master of stealthy sub-aquatic attacks and tactics.
Weapons: armed with a variety of torpedoes and sea to air missiles which can be deployed in robot and sub modes.
Abilities: in sub mode he can travel at several times the speed of sound and has an incredible range. In robot/merman mode he is slower but incredibly agile.
Weaknesses: he doesn't possess legs in robot form, a weakness that means he is confined to missions entirely beneath the ocean or in lakes, he does possess anti-grav lifters that allow him to travel over land, and take his sub mode into the air, but these are very inefficient and use a lot of energon.
