The latest development of the TIE Bomber.
About this creation
TIE Scimitar
The TIE Scimitar was developed and commissioned on the orders of Grand Admiral Thrawn. It went into production to full fill the Navy's needs in the campaign against the New Republic.
The hull is an elongated unipod design, with the cockpit extending forward beyond the wings to provide superior crew visibility. The two crewmen enjoy extensive viewport strips along the cockpit ceiling, and below to port and starboard.
In an emergency, the entire cockpit pod can detach to jettison the wings, main hull and payload. The Scimitar is also equipped with a strong shield generator. These two developments break with the usual TIE ethic of, 'no shields, no bail out'.
The TIE Scimitar is propelled by a single ion engine, augmented by a pair of powerful manoeuvring repulsor drives mounted on the wings. Repulsors are the most efficient form of propulsion within a planetary body; and bombers naturally spend many missions attacking ground targets.
ENGINES: 1 Ion
ACCELERATION: 9 WEG
HULL: 1 extended heavy module
LENGTH: 12.6m
RADIATOR AREA: 75.0m˛
WEAPONS: 2 laser cannons, 16 concussion missiles.

The cockpit is brought into position, ready to be assembled in the hanger at the Mount Tantiss Complex on the planet Wayland.

All sections are in place and the AT-RV lifts one of the wings to attach with the attachment pylon.

Its profile is small to reduce the risk of hits from enemy air defences.

The repulsorlifts give the ship great maneuverability in planetary atmospheres.

The crew have good visibility as the cockpit has view ports running down the sides and top, as well as the front.

This is great, but theres only one problem. TIE stands for Twin Ion Engine, so there can't be any TIE's with 1 ion drive. |

Awesome! I like that you have included two pilots instead of just one. A much more advanced and a better idea than the original TIE Bomber. It is very detailed, yet simple. |
