Medieval Castle Style Tavern - The Crown Inn (Medieval Market pieces only! - 10193)
Hi, this is my second MOC, it is a Medieval Style Tavern called The Crown Inn, using bricks from the Medieval Market set 10193 only! (Except the baseplates and some mini-figues for illustration purposes)
About this creation

After I finished my last MOC I wanted to make a Medieval tavern but make it modular as to fit in with Cafe Corner etc however the lack of 1x1x2 with technic hole pieces stopped that so I used the hinges to make a set that opened up. I had to use some baseplates which were not part of the original set. It was pretty hard to build, the front section was built first, the lower floor and roof sections are held up by arches taken from the tree, on both floors the arches are symmetrical to look more realistic, you could only see it when it was shut though :( Downstairs is a fireplace and wooden bench, upstairs is another fireplace and four poster bed (It was one of the last pieces to go in so was running low on bricks by then!)

On the opposite side I put a staircase in for access which proved extremely difficult as I wanted all of the seoncd floor baseplates in black, unfortunatley it had to be made grey to accomodate the staircase. Downstairs is a couple of seats and a table and also a bar, upstairs is a drawing table and chairs and a ladies dressing table with mirror!

The back of the Tavern I did not want to be completely symmetrical plus I did not have enough grey bricks, so I used the stone to build the extension, the door was put in firstly and then the rest built around, there are several extra arches in the extension not visible, to support the roof. The roof was grey so I covered it with green for a moss effect!

Comments welcome, I am always interested in what people think of my designs!

Cheers

Andrew

Thanks for the comments! I originally wanted to make it modular like cafe corner with a roof that lifted but there is not enough 1x1x2 w/hole connecting bricks for it to work, also there was not enough flat pieces for the floors to rest on top of each other. I did think of having the set open like a book and that the hinges would be on the front but the roofing and supports would not work. The interiors took quite a while usually because I was running out of bricks by then and had to use what was remaining. :)

It is all simply magnificent! Because it is true that the inn of the set The medieval market, been a little bit small, but the while impréssionant what you has reussi has to make with this set! Quite congratulation!

I have that set twice because i want to have a bigger tavern, too. But i would make the roof movable like in cafe corner instead of the side inge. It should be part of a bigger city diorama. I love your interiors and thanks for the inspiration.
