1967 Pontiac Firebird 400 Convertible
1967 was a great year for cars. The introduction of the Ford Mustang in 1964 inspired a new breed of cars called the "Pony Cars". Pony Cars were cars that were inexpensive, compact, and sporty. In 1967 General Motors released it's competitor car, the Camaro and with Pontiac, the sister car, the Firebird. The Firebird 400ci was among the most powerful and outperformed many road-going vehicles. The styling was also more elegant and complex than the Camaro. Enjoy my LEGO version and please comment!
About this creation
Side view. The Firebird had a sleek profile with a strong rear shoulder above the rear wheels. The same styling can be found on the Camaro and later-model Mustangs because of the aggressive look.

Rear view, showing of the unique thin-beam tail lights.

Front view. The 1967-69 model had a large chrome front-end, a very attractive feature on a clean, shiny Firebird.

All doors opened. The hood isn't exactly correct, but looks alright when closed.

Here is the 400ci V8 engine. The Firebird 400 is one of the most rare and desired Firebirds today.

Trunk open. The gas cap, like the Mustang, was located in the rear of the car.

Interior. The problem with building a yellow car is that interior colors are hard to work with. Black and grey is literally the only choice that looks normal.

Very good work. I like the front and the details all over the car. But I donīt know this wheels, can you tell me more about the wheels?
  February 15, 2010
Great work! Any car enthusiast could tell that this was a Firebird from the first pic. I really like everything about this car. You did an excellent job in capturing the spirit of the Firebird through the body's shape-even down to the hood-mounted tach. Some parts of this car that I really like, is how you made the windscreen, the front clip- very recognizable, the detailed engine, and the detailed interior. Another great car from you, Dylan, Keep building! -Anthony Dunne

Quoting Nate Andrews Awesome! As always, the size and the detail are simply amazing, and I also like the color! This was a great choice, since it's often overshadowed by the Camaro. I think it's the first time I've seen one of these in LEGO.
Thanks :) It is the only '67 Firebird out there besides a small digital one. I've always preferred the Firebird over the Camaro.
