The NEO wars are raging. All systems are affected. One particularly menacing foe arises. MTEx prepares the response.
About this creation
BRIEFING: As the NEO wars spread across countless galaxies, factions began to take footholds in certain aspects of battle. For the Atlanteans, the USRG, and their allies, the seemingly endless war with the Starmark Union had always been fierce, and the warring factions were typically stalemated across air, land, and sea. More recently, however, the SMU had revealed one of its most potent contenders: the Marauder Gunship. Powered by twin thrusters (unlike anything the USRG had seen in a craft of this scale to this point), armed to the teeth with missile pods, and able to drop an entire SMU squad anywhere on an alien world within minutes, the Marauder gave the Union unprecedented air superiority. Marauder troops laid waste to USRG air forces, and the USRG and her allies were desperate to find a solution. While other military developers worked on appropriate air-based responses for this new SMU threat, the USRG turned to one of its latest acquisitions, MTEx, for an immediate solution. Using its R&D specialization in light-weight and highly-agile off-road vehicles, MTEx was commissioned to build a nimble and potent anti-aircraft assault vehicle. MTEx decided to re-tool an existing expedition model, the Chopsaw, for this purpose.

The existing frame was elongated, facilitating a gunner station. Armor was added to the vehicles sides in order to protect the driver and passenger. The vehicle was also outfitted with extra lights. The method this vehicle, designated MT-3/CV-B, would use to attempt to dispatch SMU air units is simple: the vehicle will be able to respond quickly to an enemy air assault, access the terrain via its off-roading systems, and a gunner positioned in the rear of the vehicle will provide suppressive anti-aircraft fire in a defensive role, circling the units being attacked while they reorganize and retreat. The Marauder attacks are usually very fast and come with little or no warning. Thus, the aim of the vehicle's anti-aircraft assault is to protect ground units while they regroup, and to provide cover while USRG and Atlantean forces prepare a counter-defensive.

The vehicle is equipped with a Slate & Larren 7.62mm drum-fed machine gun, capable of firing alloy-piercing ammunition at a rate of 4,000 rounds per minute. While there have yet to be enough encounters between the Marauder Gunship and the MT-3, little is known yet as to how effective this weapon is against the air unit.

The vehicle was also fitted with weapon racks capable of holding two personal weapons inside the main compartment. The MT-3 will be deployed in role of almost constant patrol, in all weather conditions at all times of day and night, staying ever vigilant for the Marauders. The driver, passenger, and gunner will need to be armed and be able to perform basic infantry duties should the situation call for it.

Again, little is known as to the actual effectiveness of the MT-3 in the described roll as an anti-aircraft defender for USRG and Atlantean forces at this time. But the USRG and MTEx are confident that this temporary solution will buy the allies more time to prepare an appropriate air response.
------------------------------------------
Okay I hope you all find time to read this, I think it's kind of fun. Anyway, as you can see, I've developed yet another version of the MT-3. It's finally done though - I think this version fits the USRG in NEO wars better than the previous version, and I'm much more happy with this version over all.

Yes. It's six-wide, and the fig's arms sit over the side-rails/ A third can stand in the back with the gun. |

Very cool creation and great details for that size. You're a fan of buggy/offroader-ish vehicles, aren't you?
what was your first clue? haha. yep sure am.

I like ths version far more than the Chopsaw. I think it's because it seems more balanced with the enlongated tail section. Just my two cents. Oh,and by the way, you convinced me to order lifelights because of the original chopsaw. That's a good thing.
yeah i totally agree. i think the longer rear deck on this one looks better than the shorter one. at least its completely finished now and I can move one! cant wait to see your lifelite setup!

Atlanteans and USRG allies? Maybe thats an idea! After all, the Union made friends with the Traq, so this should be fair. But I hope not to have many allies after this. Other than a nice story thats good to read, EXCELLENT MOC! Again like your earlier ones, like the Dune buggy design!
wait I thought USRG were already allies with the Atlanteans? was I mistaken? |

U.S.R.G retreating? That's no surprise.
Its more like the USRG makes a tactical pull-back, enabling them to reorganize and gather strength to strike back after being sucker-punched by the cowardly Union. ooooo ooooo no he didnt. oh yes. yes he did.

Oh come now, you cant possibly believe that Union troops will retreat at the sight of this matchbox vehicle. Smack aside, thye gray looks really nice on this. Black was rather meh. You should really try a four seater next time; just to spice it up a bit.
No no no, dont worry i was saying USRG forces would be retreating. this thing just protects them while they regroup. yeah im building the raptor now - its larger but similarly designed so a four seater could happen. although...i was hoping to mount a .50 on that :-)

WOW! This is an amazing off road vehicle. Also the new grey color fits perfectly with the USRG's color systems. And the little bit of lime green works well too! The weapon rack is a great idea , and pretty much everything else is ingenious. And the back story is great too. It seems you understand the NEO War's story perfectly well.
Cant wait for more. Now that the USRG is working with MTEx
thanks! I finally feel like this model is finsihed, and I can begin building an entirely new vehicle. after a week of refinement, this one better be finished! lol |
