I went to my parents house the other day and brought home my old LEGO bucket (8L ice-cream bucket). In there are some pieces that are at least 30 years old and not broken! I put a few things together quickly for my son (William), his favourite is the flat-bed truck.
About this creation

... a lot of you have probably never seen one of these bricks before, that's because it's 30 years old! I got these ones from set 1558.

... I made a hot-rod and a flat-bed truck (8 wide) with steering and folding ramps

... here is a little bi-plane I made using an old Technic fan as the prop, I've aslo added a little exhaust on the side

... the rear of my bi-plane, for some reason the flash didn't go off

... my boy is only 3, so I had to make these things as strong as I could, turn the light on the roof to steer the truck

... the truck can quite easily seat 2 mini-figs abreast

... the tray is also wide enough to carry my monster truck

"Good afternoon shoppers, we are paging the owner of a black monster truck, you are parked on top of a MegaBlocks minifig, please tend to your vehicle... no rush"

... another shot of my hot-rod, I used the 30 year old bricks to support the spoiler and the side pipes are 20 years old from set 6669 (diesel daredevil)!

... the monster truck is actually quite stable, my boy laughs when I roll it fast over piles of bricks

... because the wheels and tyres are heavy and act as a ballist, and becuase the wheels are wide it has a low centre of gravity

... yes, I know, this dragster is missing 2 cylinders

... when I was little I needed a lot of black pieces but I didn't have enough so I coloured some of them, see if you can spot the coloured ones here. Beofre LEGO used stickers the graphics where printed directly onto the pieces

... we got a MegaBlocks hellicopter as a freebee (I sure as hell wasn't going to pay for it) but the rotor didn't even spin, so I made this hellicopter for my boy. I used a 2x2 turntable to let the rotor spin and some old Blacktron canopies for the dome

... to make the tail rudder I used the old wedge technique

I found this (LEGO related) vid on the net and it blew me away!
