An entry for the 2010 Moc Athon in the category of "Will it Float?" for Team Pride.
About this creation
The Off-Shore Digging Rig is raft-like boat used to excavate land directly off shore.

Overall shot of the boat.

A side view to show all of the workers.

A picture of the engines. When it floats these just make it under the water.

Here's the dude working the excavator.

It has a movable arm and shovel.

Here's the man who sorts all the minerals and searches for the precious pink-flower-gemstones.

The two workers on the mini-carts. They do work such as drilling, cleaning, magnifying and tightening bolts.

Now for the all important will it float shots!

I used the flash on this one so its hard to see the water but if you look near the engines you can see the water line.

This one did not use the flash so it is kind of dark but it is easy to see that it is floating. I had to put all the accessories to the right side of the boat to balance out the rock bed so the boat would stay stable.

Extra Commentary: I got really lucky in this category. I picked up my yellow bin dumped it out and noticed a bunch of the yellow tubes with studs on one side. I just connected a bunch of them and held them together with plates and what do you know? The system floated the first time! I was pumped. Plus all I could think of was the density of the thing seeing as I am in physics right now...

Thank you :) 4 points: it's cool, detailed and with lots of playable features. You don't get more because the very basic moveable arm on front looks like an afterthought, very rushed. Still, well done!

Quoting Yuri Fassio As I had the dubious pleasure to do before (http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/186237; http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/187865), your "proof it floats" pics force me, AGAIN, to ask you a question: is this floating, or is it simply lying on the bottom of that inch of water in your tub?(Worried about the bill? Or is there a draught?) And, AGAIN, I will trust your word on this, so you can simply answer here before my judging. But people, it will be the last time.
Yes Mr. Fassio this actually floats. When I first tested I thought there was enough water. However, in person is a different perspective from digital photos. I am sorry about the non-clarity of the online representation. Thank you for your patience. -Sam

Very cool design, and the backstory is a bonus. The yellow colour palate will make up for the lack of urine tainted water too. Four (4) points from me. Lee.

I was planning on making something in this category, but this came out better than anything I could have made. 5/5
