It was not long before the two men were heading out to the front line again, with Slack now a full member of the F.I.S.. They arrived and Clift gunned down a URS soldier and bustled over to them.

"Sir." He said.
"Report!" Ordered Iad'.
"There are two U.R.S. squads moving towards the ridge sir. We have set up gun batteries and machine gun turrets in the key sectors and Squad one has just captured another piece of land leading to their base. SIR!"
"Right Clift. Go to the ridge and lead the defense. Once the U.R.S. have been repelled, advance as far as possible and then set up defensive positions again." The F.I.S. leader commanded.
"Yessir." responded Clift and he ran off to follow his orders.

When Jamie got to the ridge, the attack had already begun.
The machine-guns and auto-turrets rattled out round after round into the advancing U.R.S. army and as the Rebelling Systems came over the hill they were cut down like wheat in a field. Soon the defendants were on the offensive!

"Up an’ at ‘em boys!" roared Clift. They charged into the next sector and met the 3rd U.R.S. defense line, the first having been the landing site and the second the previously mentioned ridge. The U.R.S. crouching down in their trenches, jumping up and firing over the top at the approaching army. The F.I.S. got closer and closer then arrived at the first lines.

“Aargh!” They leapt down into the trenches, slaughtering hundreds in the first jump. U.R.S. troops collapsed under the weight of the enemy troops who still poured into the ditches onto them and the ones that weren’t crushed scrabbled back and drew their viroblades and attempted to fight back but unsuccessfully. Many more were killed in the close-range fighting.

The F.I.S. successfully killed every enemy troop in the first trench before charging up and over towards the second. “Fire!” Clift screamed as he led the charge.

They tipped into the U.R.S. forces but this time Blast’s troops were more prepared and killed most of the first wave, but the rest kept on coming and the killing continued.

Hess was in that trench and fired his pistol at the oncoming troops. He repeatedly fired but then his gun clicked as it ran out of ammo.

He looked at the gun then threw it aside as the enemy swarmed towards him.

“Oh shi…!” he started to shout as he turned and ran but a bomb blast behind him

threw him through the air, straight out of that trench and into the third.

The F.I.S. overran the second trench and charged towards the third. There they killed off the enemy within minutes of vicious melee apart from all the U.R.S. leaders who all survived and ran back into the secret base leaving the remaining troops outside to continue the fighting.

BUT WHAT WILL HAPPEN NEXT? FIND OUT IN PART 15! COMING 2ND MARCH!
