6890 (Cosmic Cruiser) gets a M:Tron rebuild - with a few improvements...
About this creation
I remember 6890 fondly from my childhood as my first Lego spaceship... and it seemed to lend itself to an M:Tron upgrade. Let me know what you think!
Able to carry a single pilot and a light payload anywhere from a planet's surface to deep space, the Excalibur is used whenever the M:Trons are scouting for... minerals? Girls? Really good doughnuts? The decision is yours!
That shape just screams 'Classic Space,' doesn't it?
Cockpit view showing some of my improvements - the controls are a bit more convincing (6890 just had a steering wheel), and it's properly airtight. The magnets on each side hold storage boxes slung under the wings (it is an M:Tron ship, after all).
The release mechanism for the scooter - a lot more secure than the one on 6890, which had a bad habit of dropping the pilot on the floor if you attempted any aerobatics.
Once released, the inner cockpit slides back...
...and detaches to give a separate scooter.
When nipping to the next asteroid for a takeaway, no need to take the whole ship, and the scooter's easier to park too. It's the fuel efficient commuter vehicle of the future!
