LIU Deep Space Repair Ship
There are no tow trucks in deep space.
About this creation
LIU Deep Space Repair Ship

The Ludgonian Industrial Union knows how frustrating it is when your ship breaks down in deep space (not that any of our high quality LIU products ever break down...) We also know that towing your ship to the nearest mechanic is expensive and time consuming. That's why we're introducing the LIU Deep Space Repair Ship (DSRS). Fly your mechanics to the scene and repair your ship in deep space.

The DSRS is as durable as they come, but even if it does break down, you have mechanics on board to fix it.

Two short stabilizer wings give the DSRS some atmospheric flight capabilities, but we recommend you only use it in deep space.

A small airlock allows your mechanics to exit the DSRS. Most repairs require spacewalks, and if they don't, the ship you are repairing better have its own airlock for the mechanic to enter. The DSRS's mechanic platform prevents it from directly connecting to your airlock.

The DSRS's three small engines don't provide much speed, but they are extreme Ely efficient.

Here, a mechanic shows off his Nut Wrencher 5000 while standing on the DSRS's mechanic platform.

A DSRS docks at Space Station M31-P5. Join Doog later this month for LIU Atlas - M31-P5.

Note: The Nut Wrencher 5000 is intended for mechanical purposes only. Due to an ongoing lawsuit, we can no longer sell the Nut Wrencher 5000 to angry housewives.

the ship is cool, but, the airlock s my favorite, i like the many functionnal-service type of ships you create, they re the next step, after doing some fighters, and cargo, very nice!

Wow, I bet your insurance would skyrocket after getting picked up by that thing. I am curious as to what the LIU Leaders do with all that money, but something tells me I don't want to know. Awesome job =)

LIU ships seem to break down alot, don't they? Hey, how much do these cost, my battlestars seem to break down during a space battle, and I don't like having to hear another ship was destroyed just because the power went off. Great piece, I'll be waiting for the next one.

Wow, in all the MOC Athalon cra..um, stuff, I missed this! Great ship, but what I really like is the hanger, looks just like one would expect a repair ship hanger to look like.

Hi:), Is it bad that I kind of want to see it fly in atmospheric conditions:)... Looks very good, your ship! I love the sometimes only slight, sometimes blatant irony one can find in all LIU creations. Reading your storylines makes it double the pleasure to check out your MOCs. Best regards, Steffen

Terrific ship. You're right, you never know when you need a good mechanic to get a nut loose or replace a light bulb. Good thing the LIU has this sturdy craft ready to go -- think a crew would come and fix the brakes on my car? This is a great build and a worthy addition to the LIU fleet!

You know... I found an old receipt for a Nut Cruncher 5000 in the drawer the other day... Yeah, maybe I should sleep in the garage for a while huh? Love the ship, love the dock, can't wait for the full "Atlas" post! ~ Chris.

I like it. Useful, practical, and LIU. I love your LIU creations. They are all akillfully made, and have practical purposes. The airlock and catwalk especially caught my attention on this one. Good job.

Nice ship. Love the Nut Cruncher. I think I was married to one for a while back in the 70's. It's so long ago that the details have washed out of my brain. see ya. garth

Hmmm, the Nut Wrencher 5000 sounds like something Phipson would use during an interrogation. The way you did 'caution' on the bay floor is my favorite detail.~H

Haha! Nice, I saw that one coming in the end with the nut wrencher! I like the look of the ship and the airlock which looked good on the medical ship too. Great work as usual!

Ouch, if those are the tools of the trade... Can't wait for the next Atlas! (I wonder if Doog nearly becomes acquainted with a NutWrencher 5000?)
