The enterprisers chug through the dangerous waters of 'Amalgam'! (In the MOCAthalon of 2010...)
About this creation
Right. So once I saw this category, I knew I needed to build in it. Though, I had NO idea WHAT to build in it. Then I saw a Wild-West fig on my build table and my heart was set on building Wild-West something. But what was the other theme I would use? A short dig through my 'modern' minifigure bin and I came across a scout trooper from the Star Wars LEGO(R) toy-line. That was it! And here you have my fruits (How rotten they may be...) of late-night, coffee slurping building. Do enjoy!
This entire build evolved from the armored wagon/stage coach you see in this image. It's like an AT-ST on wagon-wheels...
Then I figured, "Heck - this is Star wars, instead of cacti we can have those water-collector thingies!"... so there you have it!
The idea, in my apinion, was to build this scene so that it looked like the Star Wars characters were trying to blend into a Wild-West world. Just picture a Storm-Trooper with a Union Soldier's uniform pulled over his bulky armor and you'll get the idea.
The dude riding shotgun fires two bolts in rapid succession. Don't ya' love the smell of frozen action in the mornin'?
A Native-American Wookie Warrior? Is that like peanut-butter, chocolate chip cookies?
Riding shotgun can be one of the best things in life. But I've found that the driver does alter that quite a bit... (Depending...)
The wagon is rambling on through, under fire, with armor flaps slapping the sides... How do you spell epic?
A clear view from the window... well, it is kind of distorted. That might be the themes clashing.
(Please note - I do not belive the US military is ANYTHING like the Empire in the Star Wars films... this isn't a political opinion.) <-- But heck, who's going to jump to conclusions?
Well there you have it, the rest of these are pictures of the armored wagon (Because it owns, you goof!
"If we can charge past the rebel bandits, we'll be able to deliver these blaster rifles and whiskey to our own lads in white and blue!"
First of all, great creation!
Second of all, @Lee Jones, I started drinking coffee around the age of 9. My brother had his first cup when he was 3 or 4. I don't think there really is such a thing as "too young for coffee".
A stunning build, but are your really old enough to be drinking coffee? An excellent amalgam, might even have to play with that one at some point. Four (4) points to you for a nice and clever build. Lee.
The main vehicle looks fantastic, and the whole thing really rocks ! I used to love Star wars, but now I can only bear it when it's really a great MOC and/or mixed with something else, like in your creation. Some epic shots and overall a great build. Good luck with the judges, I think they will like it !
