Well here is my much anticipated "Atlantis!" Moc. It is also my entry for round 3 of the Spring Brick-Olympics for non-professionals. Please comment, rate and enjoy!
About this creation
Here is an overall view of the layout. I basicly tried to create a small scene with lots of things happening in the lost city. Sorry about the bad flooring; I couldn't find enough baseplates to cover the needed area!
Another view. (Slightly blurry. SORRY!!!)
And the overall layout from a different angle.
This is my second favourite part of the whole thing. "The Gateway to Atlantis." As you can see, a diver on his sub are trying to get past the "Gate Guardian" but with little success.
Another view of the Gateway.
And yet another view!
The main view.
Another angle with a little bit of underwater lighting.
Without the figs or the sub.
Here is a different part of the scene. The "Seabed Scavenger" divers vehicle has grabbed onto a shipwreak and the diver has swum out to face the Manta Warrior.
The diver and the Manta Warrior with the Manta key.
A view with the claw in the foreground.
The Manta Warrior with his key standing on the top deck next to the ship's wheel.
Back view of the shipwreak.
Just to show the windows on the back.
The wreak without the diver and his vehicle.
Now my favourte part of the whole thing and posibly one of my favourite ever creations. "Mer Temple." It was once one of the grandest structures on the planet, where people would go to worship the sun but when the city was lost beneath the waves, it grew old and became used only by Mer-people.
Here is a Merman fending off a diver.
The front stairs and the hut-thing on top.
A view of two sets of stairs and some of the weeds growing on it.
These are the back and right stairs.
The roof-top where the grand cresent holds the crab key. Also you can see that the back of the hut-thing has a crack in it with yet more weeds.
The left stairs were damaged when the city was flooded and have a huge hole in.
A closer view of the hole.
The front left corner and some more details.
The sun shining through the crab key.
And here is "Poseidon's Palace." (Exept it's not realy big enough to be called a palace, so it's more like a hall. And also one of the proper Atlantis sets has "Neptune" in the name so this should realy be called "Neptune's Hall"!)
As you can see there is a giant crab guardian on the roof along with... yup... you guessed it... MORE WEEDS!
Front view. (Slightly blurry, sorry again!)
The mast sticking up through the roof. The whole of this roof actualy lifts off!
The squid guard on the main doors.
"And as the doors swung open in a flurry of bubbles, and as we gazed in awe at the sight we beheld, the water failed to enter the room beyond but stayed outside keeping the room dry. We tried to swim in but as soon as we reached the threashold we fell through plain air onto the cold stone floor. Then one of our crew gasped and we looked at the sight he saw. Poseidon in all his magnificant glory, sitting gracefully one a golden throne, flanked by two shark gurads with his famous trident in it's stand by his side."------ That was a quote from a great book I read once that I can't remember the name of! But anyway, that's what is happening in this picture.
Another view of Poseidon and his guards. Just behind his head you can see the Squid key on the wall.
A closeup of the man himself.
The extra rock formations used.
