Cafe Corner Building build for team REGM D. 2010 Moc Athalon Entry.
About this creation

Welcome to the the happy neighborhood funeral home and pie shop! Things don't always have to be somber when you move on. The smell of fresh pie is always a comfort. For those who can smell it that is.

Moving On entrance. Come on in.

Funeral director at the front desk. He seems surprisingly cheery. Don't you think?

After entering, off to your right, refresh yourself as Baron Von Baron is with a slice of pizza in the lounge.

In the lower level viewing room poor Johnny Thunder heard about Indiana Jones coming out of retirement to look for skulls. So he thought he'd join the Atlantis crew for a bit of action, but sadly meant his demise by a stray barb coming from one of the manta ray fish people. Coincidence you ask?

Attending his funeral in mourning is his arch nemesis Sam Sinister and weeping uncontrollably is Pippin. She knew it was a bad idea for Johnny to come out of retirement.

In the upper level viewing area, well quite frankly, I have no idea what's going on here. A few mourners seem to be in a state of shock.....

.....as their loved one calmly sits up and says, "Someone smell pie?"

If things are a bit to weird for you at the Moving On Funeral Home, you can head next door to the conveniently located Pie In the Window Cafe.

Cafe owners, Ned and Nellie Lovett are thrilled with the success of their pies. It seems people just can't get enough!

Things are busy inside. Perhaps someone should bring some pie over to poor Pippin.

Rolling out more dough. I know they are Lego muffins, technically. But hey, put them in a dish and you have a pie! How can a muffin be the size of someone's head anyway?

Taking some pie out of the oven.

The owners live upstairs nice and snug next to the upper level viewing area of Moving On.

They enjoy their newly remodeled bathroom.

They also enjoy their tv and upstairs patio and garden. Sometimes they share a cheery exchange from their balcony with the super peppy funeral director next door.

Out back they have a private entrance to their apartment.

Someone waiting for leftover dough?

Great sence of humor!
A bit Sweeney-Toddish don't you think?
Are we sure what's in the pies?
Super job!

The attention to the details are top notch.
You putting humor in the funeral home was great, considering that kids are also looking at these pages. |

This one's a good one. This category is quite a difficult one, and to shine through like this really makes me stare at the pictures over and over.... |

The front of the buildings isn't quite up to snuff, but the interiors and rear are fantastic. 3 points. |

Never seen Sweeney Todd, but I know the gist... I was wondering throughout the presentation what the secret ingredient in those pies was. |

Now that I read all the comments, I see you were indeed going for a Todd reference. Which I loved! |

Wow, 3's on this? Tough crowd, I would have given a 5 for the little details and the story, great job! Hey...what are the pies made out of? Sweeny Todd comes to mind for some reason. |

Nice job on this one, and the interior is very well done. Tough category though, and this one only makes it to three (3) points. The level of detail just isn't there to warrant more points. Love the idea of a funeral home - that is pretty funny. Lee. |

It's a funny, extremely well built moc. I like all the details you threw in. That funeral home was great, as was the story of Mr. Thunder. But my personal favorite was the pie shop, I mean, who doesn't like pie. |

Score of 3. I wanted to go higher, but I've been consistently difficult in this category. I did like it though.
Thanks. Hmmm....maybe an extra point for the obscure Sweeny Todd reference. Thought you'd catch that. Thanks again. |
