The U.R.S. gasped and their mouths fell open as they gazed upwards, while all the F.I.S. members started to run full pelt from the trenches and into the trees surrounding the clearing.
Nightblaze started walking slowly backwards through one of the trenches past the bemused troops then turned and started jogging towards the base.
Halfway he looked back just as Hess, Slash, Jelli and Vasilious joined him. They then ran as fast as they could out of the end trench and charged into the base panting.
“What’s going on? What’s happening?” Blast asked from his wheelchair at the other side of the room.
“The… the sky…” Vasilious started to say as they moved over to Blast. Jelli put her hand on Blast’s shoulder. The other leaders entered the base and walked over to the others.
They all slowly turned and looked from the window as the rumbling grew deafeningly loud and the sky got even darker.
Hardly any light was entering the clearing now and even though the overhead noise was so loud, an eerie silence swept through the clearing as the wind picked up and a dust cloud blew across the ground.
"Bring on the rain." Iadsgb said to himself with a cruel smile from behind a nearby tree.
The U.R.S. leaders looked on in horror as the black sky suddenly turned an eye-blindingly bright red as millions of flaming bombs and missiles were dropped from the bombers.
They plummeted down towards the ground and the U.R.S. troops realized too late what was happening and turned and tried to run from their impending doom.
The bombs slammed down upon the trapped U.R.S. in the trenches.
Dust, dirt and debris flew into the air along with huge plumes of smoke, fire and shrapnel.
Huge craters were blown into the earth as bodies of dead and dying troops were thrown up in huge wreathing fireballs.
Twisted and broken corpses lay scattered across the ground, as the fire continued to rain down.
The smoke towered miles into the sky, blocking the view from the base.
Even though they couldn’t see anything, the U.R.S. leaders still felt what was happening. Continuous underfoot shaking and trembling as the bombs continuously crashed into the clearing. Suddenly one huge explosion blasted up right in front of the base window where the leaders were standing, shattering the glass and throwing the leaders backwards onto the ground, covering them in dirt and muck.
“Aargh!” Jelli screamed causing everyone to jump.
“Oh…!” Blast exclaimed as he saw what the problem was. A soldier’s arm lay bleeding in Jelli’s lap.
“Whoa!” Falcon grabbed it and threw it to the side as they all started to get up.
Padfoot stood Blast’s wheelchair up then helped him back into it. Another huge explosion shot through the base but then the underfoot trembling stopped and the sky lightened, not that anyone could see that because of the billowing smoke. It was over.
“Is that it?” Hess asked cautiously.
“Let’s find out.” Blast replied and wheeled his chair past the severed arm towards the door.
He opened it and coughed in the smoke that drifted past and inside. He went out, effectively blind in the smoke, followed closely by the others.
BUT WHAT WILL HAPPEN NEXT? FIND OUT IN PART 17! COMING 9TH MARCH!
That seems really cruel but if I had to wage war that is how I would do it. Obliterate everything for miles and kill millions just as a warning. So many bombers they blot out the sun. And just to finish it a Tactical Nuke. Your lucky I don't use the Star Wars equivalent of one. It would flip you up. That is how to win though. Smash everything until they surrneder or there is nothing left to smash. After the bombing I would send in thousands of flamethrowers to burn the wasteland. They would be followed by millions of tanks and APCs.
Just as a warning.
