Sometimes I get strange ideas . . . this was one of them.
About this creation
Good afternoon, traveler! Welcome to Interstellar Bus Lines. The bus will make commuter stops at the moon and Uranus before jumping into hyperdrive for stops at the Alpha Sirius, Gamma Nocho, and Tijuana Temptus IV. Passengers bound for Uranus should be prepared -- IBL control informs me that the stench is stronger than usual.
This is a Bluebird Starjumper 400 bus, brought into service just last year. Outfitted with two Novastar thrusters and a small vertical thrust engine for landing and loading, this baby is the cheapest way to get the work. And you don't have to hassle with all that traffic going out of Earth orbit, either!
The designers wanted to keep that familiar commuter feel -- without the muggers, of course -- and our passengers love to look out the windows and see the wonders of the universe. Me? I just drive the bus. It's better than my last job, which was being a member of the U.S. Senate.
Every now and then the bus gets a little cramped, but thrill seekers always have the option of using the convient hand grips!
At IBL, we do our best to keep our passengers happy. So sit back, relax, and leave the starcruising to us!
Builder's note: This is a dream come true for me, since it pays homage to this. Ever since I first set eyes on the City Corner set (7641) I knew I would do something like this with the bus. It took me a few months to get around to it, but here it is. Below is a shot of the bottom, which I attempted to greeble but evenutally said, "Meh, the joke's the thing here." and there you have it. For the record, this is not an entry for the MOCathalon -- if it were, it would be a thousand-point instant win.
