Well, this is my Semi-Automatic Assault Rifle.
It is the first rifle I've made but it works pretty good!
NO, please don't say something like: it doesn't look like any regular weapon. It is not based on any regular weapon, I kinda built it around the firing mechanism and this is what I ended up with. I think it's pretty cool, it shoots lego rods over about 20/25 feet.
And it's FULLY semi-automatic, the only thing needed to shoot is pulling the trigger. It can fire quite rapidly, you can empty the magazine in 2/3 seconds .
Another nice feature is the shell ejecting after every shot
Pretty nifty huh?
The weapon is powered by a spring, you know the ones found in ballpoints. Of course if you would want to copy the mechanism you'd need exactly the same spring...I suppose that's impossible. Anyway, if you pull the trigger, the spring pushes against the bullet. However there is a slide in front of the bullet which prevents it from being shot away. When you pull the trigger far enough, the part on top of the mechanism will move forward and just when the spring is fully inside the tube the slide will move up. This makes the spring shoot the bullet out of the barrel. Afterwards, when the trigger is released, it will slide back automatically. The empty shell will be ejected and a new one will slide up from the magazine.

Mechanism. Accidentally one piece is missing in this and the next photo - the sloped 3x2 piece, which prevents the shells+bullets from sliding up. After the shot the shell is pushed against this piece so it pops out. (See the ejection port photo to see what I mean)
It sounds very interesting. I cant really understand the mechanism from the pictures, but I would like to know more about it, so that I may make a firing gun, but with maybe a modified mechanism. Please if able, send me instructions. Great looking gun, I hope you make more original guns.
