When the Union wants a plain where a mountain is, whether to destroy an Atlantean outpost, decimate an enemy formation, or level the land for a new golf course, they call in the “Annihilator”-class heavy artillery. Pulled by a Standard Union supply truck, retrofitted with treads on suspension for rocky (or debris-ridden, for that matter) ground, this artillery piece is nothing to trifle with. The Annihilator has a large body that acts as a control center/bunker with armor a foot thick. Armor that is so strong it can withstand just about anything but a direct hit from an enemy artillery piece or bomber. It is equipped with the best sensor array available, and is able to detect any incoming targe- ahem- enemies within a twenty mile radius, nearly the range of its honkin’ big gun there, which can raise and lower. Two braces on either side of the trailer deploy before firing to provide stability. And the entire thing turns on a rotating platform built into the trailer.
Now, the truck part. I had fun building this, it was new for me to put treads on suspension, and it’s not as agile as I would like it to be. Oh well, you can see from one of the pics below how agile it is. The cab has opening doors and poseable (I hope that’s the right word) rear-view mirrors. It has a small locker on one side and a ladder to the roof platform on the other. I was going to put my other black locker on the other side, but I couldn’t find it anywhere! Bummer. So, the roof: it acts as a spotter platform or sniper post, and has a retractable weapons turret, which can mount different weapons. This one has a anti-vehicle impact cannon, which launches armor-piercing grenades. The two bottommost headlights are terrain-following headlights, scanning the ground for obstacles and mines. The next pair up are the standard forward lights, and the top lights are positionable, to work as treetop searchlights. Also, the cab is equipped with a winch in the back, in case some stupid USRG soldier drives his truck into a ditch. :) That’s all, folks! Enjoy!
About this creation
Now for the truck...
A view of the inside; and yes, that is red.
The impact cannon retracted.
The impact cannon extended.
This is my suspension design, such as it is. Basically, I took the design by Andrew Somers (click here) and tuned it sideways, so that the axles were on the left and right sides instead of the front and back. Cool, huh? Thanks, Andrew!

I just wish to point out to sean that I Built a 3 wheeled supply truck, you can probably make one with one tread(but you might need a couple o wheels and change the balance. |

For a while, I was contemplating on building a Union feild artillery piece myself. Guess you beat me to it. Drat. Excellent build to say the least. I'm really liking the plates on the sides of the gun. Though I can't help but feel that the gun is a bit too small in comparison to the casing. Oh well. Nice job! |

Wow this is humongusaur. The back could use a bit more detailing and some more work but other then that, its great. And i think you should've added tank tracks to the artillery trailer and wheels to the cab of the MOC
Yes, it is pretty big. I was happy because I didn't have to take apart my Mosquito Hawk to build it. And about the treads vs. wheels, I probably would have switched them, except that I didn't have enough treads for it to fit the trailer. |

hmmm... the USRG TST looks like it could probably move faster(and for that matter, just roll on over all the debris, crushing things on the way), but this looks likeit can hold more, therefor, I shall make the TST better!great job, love the artillary(demolition guy: do i dodge, do plant bombs on it, AGHGHHHG!!!!!, me: just kill the driver, we can take care of the cannon later!) |
