Deep Space Surveyor : Kellion
About this creation

About the ship

The Kellion is a large deep space scout ship. It's primary task is to map unknown regions of space. The Kellion is able to operate independent from supplies and maintnence for up to 24 months.
The ship is equipped with 6 Turbolasers und two heavy ion-canons to protect itself.

Though not a dedicated military vessel the Kellion can serve as a fast scout in times of war, jumping behind enemy lines and gather information before jumping back to fleet.
Her disadvantage in size - in fact for a military scout the Kellion is too large - is outweighted by her excellent sensor-performance, allowing her to spy over great distances. Smaller scouts have to go near to the enemy and rely on their stealth-abilities.

About the model
The Kelion is a small side effect, which developped while I was puzzling on the Dawn of Infinity. When it was done, I realized that it looked a little bit like the Omega Cruisers in Babylon 5. Usually those little ships don't exist very long, because of the need of bricks on the bigger models - but I liked this one, and so here it is. Enjoy and feel free to leave comments.

That's a Sweet design. You're right, very reminiscient of the B5 Human warships. Looks a bit like my Whisper. Love asymmetry, and the way you made such a complete-looking ship on such a small scale.
